Pogoniskos is an incredibly beautiful village with just a bunch of houses, isolated, right next to the Albanian-Greek border. This is a typical semi-old fashioned country style house, providing almost everything, if one looks for a shelter and a base for exploring Epirus, with its wonderful landscapes, old villages and towns, archtitectural treasures and traditional coffee houses. Some 60 km away from Ioannina, within the wildly charming region of Pogoni, with its distinct musical style and welcoming people, close to Zagori, with its fairy - tale villages and awe inspiring mountains, rivers and midieval bridges, Tzoumerka, and so many more if one has the time to explore, and of course a car, which is necessary, as the village itself, and every other place around for that matter, is really close to nothing. We loved Pogoniskos, especially the small plateau surrounded by the snowy mountains of Pogoni, so wonderful under the pale morning sunlight of Epirus, as well as under its starry nights. Looking forward to get the chance to travel there again.
