If you’re tired of the formality and restriction of hotels, but still want the high quality amenities and furnishings, then look no further than The Studio at Number One.
Our aim when creating the Studio was to provide a top quality environment for guests whilst adding those unique, personal touches such as our 'basic breakfast basket' and eco friendly products, that can make all the difference to the seasoned traveller.
The Studio, whilst being part of our home, is entirely private with its own entrance. It looks out onto a large part of our gardens and you would be welcome to enjoy the outside area.
We have tried to anticipate the needs of short-stay travellers and visitors to the area when designing and creating The Studio.
Guests receive our 'basic breakfast basket' which includes fruit, cereals, juice, yoghurts, bread and spreads. Along with our tea and Nespresso coffee pods, everything is well stocked and where possible, we'll tailor to any dietary needs - just ask us when confirming your booking.
The Studio has its own Kitchen space with basic cooking facilities, microwave, portable hotplate and fridge, but not enough to list as having a full kitchen. Cupboards are complete with crockery, cutlery and glassware and a breakfast bar with two stools.
Within the Kitchen area we have provided a Laundry consisting of a washing machine and tumble dryer and have supplied a steam iron and ironing board, so if your clothes are up for a refresh – be our guest!
The Lounge Area will provide you with all the relaxation and entertainment you need, with large flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, Netflix and mini hifi system. To keep you cosy in Winter and cool in Summer, we’ve also installed a heat pump for your comfort, plus The Studio is served by our central heating system.
Directly off the Kitchen you’ll find the Ensuite Shower Room, complete with luxury towels and underfloor heating. No cold toes here on Winter mornings!
And, right outside the french doors, you have your own patio and table and chairs… perfect for enjoying a glass of wine after a day’s exploring or shopping. Should you wish to barbecue one evening, you only have to ask – ours is at your disposal.
In summary, making your stay as comfortable as possible is our aim.
If we’ve missed anything, let us know. If you need anything, just ask.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests access The Studio via a separate, secure entrance, with a keypad code and lockable door, so security is not an issue.

We have good local knowledge and are more than happy to provide you with information and tips to make your stay as enjoyable as it possibly can be. There are a number of great walks locally and Devonport has a wonderful village vibe and a number of very good cafes and restaurants offering a wide selection of cuisines.
The Studio, whilst private, is also an integral part of our family home. This means that we are pretty much always available to answer queries and help in any way we can.
Tim and Anne have lived in Devonport since 2008 and in our current house – of which The Studio is part – for over 5 years. We have managed an extensive programme of renovation of the property and its gardens during that time and we are very proud of the result.
Anne works in the centre of Auckland so commutes daily by ferry and Tim works from home and also looks after our 6-year-old son, whilst squeezing-in the odd game of golf.
We have good local knowledge and will always do our best to provide information, guidance and even the odd lift for our guests – so if you are arriving by ferry, just let us know and we’ll do our level best to pick you up!
