To start from the beginning to describe our experience, the host was non responsive and did not provide check-in information. We messaged her at 8:00AM the day of check-in (check-in time is 3:00PM) and she did not respond with details until 7:30PM. We called a couple times but no luck in getting a hold of her. If it wasn't for our delay in arriving to Kyoto, we would have been stranded outside with luggage and a baby.
Even after we got the check-in details, we had to pry out more specific information like where is the key, what room, and the name of the apartment building.
Once we entered the apartment, we found numerous problems. There was a foul smell from the laundry area, the blankets on the mattress were wet, the mattress didn't really have sheets as it looked like it just had another set of blankets, no pillow covers, floors were dusty, and most importantly the kitchen had no microwave, refrigerator, or any pots, pans, or tools to cook with.
The reason we rented this place instead of a hotel, was so that we could cook our 1 yr old some food. Without a refrigerator or a microwave, we couldn't keep anything cold or warm up to eat.
After spending the night, we realized that the rooms were very cold. We used the heaters provided, but in the middle of the night, the two heaters would trip the circuit and power would go off. Since we were sleeping when the power would go out, we would wake up from the cold and try to find the electrical box in the dark.
Overall, we would never recommend this listing and would question any other locations the host is listing. We were upfront with the host about the issues at this apartment but nothing was ever resolved. (Except for the wet blanket... she came in the middle of the night and tried to open the door to drop off a new blanket... she came unannounced and scared us for a bit until she sent us a message after the fact)
