Our spacious double room is newly decorated in our own quirky style and offers a comfortable stay in our cosy Victorian cottage situated on a quiet road 5 minutes walk from the main high streets shops and a selection of restaurants and coffee shops. 10 minute walk from railway station This is an ideal location for visiting the race courses, Tattersalls and Racing Heritage Centre and one mile from national stud . Guests have access to own shower room on ground floor plus bathroom on same level.

Le logement
Kisber Cottage was built in 1896 by the jockey John "Jack"Watts, winner of 19 Classics most famously riding Persimmon to win the Derby and St Leger for the Prince Of Wales in 1896, according to the original deeds and legal papers relating to our house it was a cash gift from another nobleman owner Viscount Falmouth which allowed him to purchase the plot and finance the build. We are located a stones throw from Fitzroy House stables which Michael Bell currently trains out of, racehorses can be heard walking past the end of and occasionally down Doris Street 6 days a week.
We have lovingly maintained the original character of the property during its expansion and re design over the last 5 years, its location in a conservation area means the immediate area retains its beautiful ambiance.
The room we have on offer is the largest, lightest and airy room in the house and prior to a loft conversion was the master bedroom.

Newmarket, Angleterre, Royaume-Uni

We are in such a quiet street yet an incredibly short distance from all Newmarket has to offer!
If you want to go racing then the Rowley Mile course is only a 20 minute walk and the July Course is a 5 minute drive or courtesy bus ride. Tattersalls horse sales is approximately 7 minutes walk. The Racing Heritage Centre off the back of the High street is again in that 10 minute walk radius. Our local pub The Yard with its mixed clientele of regulars in the racing industry and visitors to the town is 3-4 minutes walk. There is a wide range of restaurants and cafes catering for all cuisine and price points right on our doorstep ( we've eaten in most and are happy to offer an opinion or recommendation),some really good pubs, local shops, high street shops, Waitrose is walking distance and then other supermarkets a very short drive. There is a wealth of history to discover locally especially if you have an interest in horse racing and we'd be happy to point you in the right direction of some interesting finds. If you enjoy running or cycling there are numerous routes accessible. We are 20 minute drive or short train/ bus ride from Cambridge on one side and Bury St Edmunds on the other, historic Ely is 25 minutes and some of the villages surrounding Newmarket offer several brilliant restaurants.

Hi I am Sammie and married to Jules. I am currently working part time as a nurse, and Jules works in sales ... a quirky mix. I enjoy dancing , we both enjoy an eclectic mix of music with an enthusiastic vinyl collection. We both love good food , eating out and hosting dinner parties, entertaining for friends and family ... Jules is a fantastic cook! I enjoy house design and we both love hunting for little antiquities or vintage oddities that fit in our little old cottage. Although Jules does seem to collect too many books! We both enjoy being outdoors , walking our dear Doris dog the lurcher. Camping and picnics are always fun, especially when there is a live band thrown in. Jules enjoys fishing and horse racing and of course we live in the ideal location! Our children are grown up .... (I'm not sure we have! ) and so we have plenty of room to spare ... Becoming part of air b n b has been an extension of our shared interests and meeting new people has been a very positive and fun experience for us both.
