Located in the Cherokee National Forest at scenic Cosby, TN, this modest 1 Bedroom/Bath log cabin is only a short distance from the Smoky Mountain National Park. Home to the black bear, the wild turkey and a myriad of plants and animals unique to Eastern Tennessee, Faffoo Bear's Den provides a comfortable retreat for up to 3 adults or two adults and small children, with a queen size bed in the bedroom and a pull-out love seat in the living room. The dining table seats 4.
The genuine log construction keeps the interior cool in summer and warm in winter, while air conditioning and electric heaters provide comfort during temperature extremes. Constructed in 2008, Faffoo Bear's Den is the cozy alternative to large and costly cabin rentals.
The spacious porch provides a scenic view of Ground Hog Creek, located on the property, and the creek provides the appropriate mountain music for carefree days and restful nights. Situate on 8.7 acres of mountain forest, hiking opportunities are there for those who like their hiking to be largely vertical.
While not equipped with some of the luxuries of larger cabins such as full kitchens, all the amenities needed for a long weekend getaway (or longer) are here. A modern bath (inside!) features a large walk-in shower. Microwave and convection ovens, griddle, charcoal grill and refrigerator combine to provide all the cooking opportunities short of roasting a turkey! The silverware and crockery is what you would expect in your own home and the knives are quality and kept sharp.
Dish TV with DVD player, video library and very limited satellite internet access provide entertainment when you aren't hiking, rafting on the Pigeon River, dining in one of Gatlinburg's many restaurants or visiting its tourist attractions and riding or driving the many "twisty" roads in the area. Gatlinburg is only 20 minutes away and historic Newport, TN is closer. Cosby Campground, operated by Park Service, is less than 2 miles with its hiking and bridle trails and fishing opportunities on Cosby Creek.
An RV site is also available with 30 amp service, cool mountain water, satellite TV wiring (provide your own receiver) and pleasant graveled patio area enclosed with a split rail fence just a few yards from the creek. This pull-thru site is available October 1st to April 1st by the day, week or month. Because of the uphill turn required to enter the site, we recommend trailers shorter than 30' unless you have 4 wheel drive and excellent trailering skills. Smaller motor-homes can negotiate the graveled drive as well.
A special note to our motorcycling friends: Faffoo Bear's Den is motorcycle friendly. We provide rags to wipe your bike down, maps of the area roads and best of all, a discount for members of our Riders of the Lost Empire, LC organization. We will provide a Promo Code to enter when booking through Cramer's Creekside Cabins. The cabin is rented during our "Lost in the Smokies" 2009 event, September 24-27, but Cramer's will extend the discount to their other rental properties that weekend.
Whatever your outdoor passions, the Great Smoky Mountains, beautiful Eastern Tennessee and Faffoo Bear's Den will cater to them. The log cabin vacation you've been putting off is now affordable. We hope to welcome you soon.

Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Dan and Paula Cramer. We ourselves were once visitors to The Great Smoky Mountains. It took only one visit to realize that this is where we wanted to live, work and raise our children. We went back to Florida, sold our home and moved to what we think is a most extraordinary place.
We are extremely proud to own and operate Cramer’s Creekside Cabins, where you will receive top notch personal attention to make your stay a memorable one.
Each of the cabins are privately owned. All measures have been taken to provide all the comforts of home to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each cabin has a list of amenities sure to please any vacationer. We hope you enjoy Gatlinburg, Cosby and The Great Smoky Mountains as much as we have.
If you should fall in love with the mountains and decide that you would like to own a slice of paradise, as well, please let us know and we would be glad to assist you in all of your real estate needs.
