The cottage is extremely clean and quite comfortable. We appreciated the small details such as updated fixtures, appliances, windows etc. Two couples or a family of four can relax and spread out. The ad listing tends to over-sell the beach and the photos imply that a sandy beach is right outside the door. In fact the beach is accessible via a long and somewhat rickety old set of stairs and gangways that in spots are pretty dilapidated, followed by a short walk through the shoreline table land to the water. The beach itself is a pebbly strand typical of great lakes shores. Realistically you would not come to this cottage for the beach, despite the fact that you can access it. It's the stunning, elevated view of the lake and the decks at the cottage that are the real selling features. Since there is no TV or Internet at the cottage, bringing kids there might be a mistake. Especially younger ones which would demand parental supervision at the lakeside - which is too far, too hard to get to and out of sight. For one or two adult couples, the place is perfect! You can easily walk to The Docks restaurant and it's literally a 5 minute drive to Bayfield. This is a central location to the whole Huron County. We loved it and would definitely go back.
