My place is close to Gladstone Park, Tesco Extra, IKEA, Wembley Stadium & SSE Arena, Jubilee Line, in easy reach of Central London in as little as 15 mins (depending where in Central London - it's not small!). It's an attractive independent living space, in a nice Edwardian house (with garden, patio, deck and BBQ), in a wide, quiet, tree-lined road, 2.5 minutes from the park: for very pleasant walking, running, outdoor gym (indoor gym adjacent) tennis, cycling permitted + cafe/restaurant.
The room is a very comfortable light, airy double room with large windows, which is far nicer than I can make it look with an iPhone camera! It has its own balcony, cooking facilities (double plate hob, multi-tasking microwave and fridge) with TV FREEVIEW and DVD player. It has an en suite bathroom (In addition there is a very nice main bathroom with large shower/WC/handbasin/whirlpool bath, available from 7.00am.) Under the double bed is a pull-out single bed suitable for an adult or child, though obviously it does restrict the space in the room. There would be a negotiable supplement for extra guests.

I am retired and therefore around most days, most of the day. I should also say that I am exceptionally busy with my writing and a new business, but will always help out when I can. Patience is one of my only virtues. I follow a simple rule of treating guests in my home in the way I would like to be treated in theirs. My daughter and I combine many many years of living in London so we can provide information about shopping, eating and places of interest both locally and in the central area, and travel plans. Previous guests have been very appreciative of our hosting (see reviews).
Being in London, parking is always restricted. You can park free in the road overnight between 6.30pm and 8.00am. Daytime parking can be obtained by prior arrangement by booking it online on our parking account: guests will be asked to reimburse us for this.
I am a retired university professor of social psychology (special subject: racism - how to explain and eradicate it, not how to do it!). I am now a full time blogger, writer, playwright, and am in the process of launching a small company. I am a single parent with an 18 year old daughter who is studying History, Philosophy and Politics at Woodhouse College which attracts undreamed-of numbers of feminist, gay, vegan students, so she is happy there. Travel: widely in Europe, though no further east than Jerusalem. NYC is my second home having been there 19 times + a sabbatical.
Philip Roth is my favourite author. Favourite movies: Impossible, but I suppose it would have to be Some Like It Hot. Wide musical tastes from cello suites to steel bands. No-one has got to me more than Bach and Dylan. Shows: loved 'The History Boys (with James Corden) and The Crucible, both at the National Theatre - a venue I would encourage all guests to visit. Food: I am chocaholic, but I will eat Tandoori chicken as a snack between chocolate bars. Five things I can't live without: my family (including pathologically-affectionate dogs), chocolate, Tottenham Hotspur FC (season ticket holder), writing, and the buzz of a new idea.
We are good hosts: we treat people as we want to be treated, with warmth and respect. We have done this successfully with long term lets for 10 years, with no problems (and long subsequent friendships) until two successive nightmare tenants spoiled it.
I have lived in London most of my life and have a good knowledge of what it offers, as does my daughter. I am happy to share that with guests and assist their planning. With advance notice, I am prepared to do airport runs, for much less than taxis or Uber (basic running costs). This is limited to parties of no more than 3 (or 2 adults + small children) on grounds of vehicle size/luggage capacity
Life motto: Do it NOW while it still seems like a good idea...!
