This cottage is so cute & cosy. My family & I stayed over winter and even though it was freezing outside the heat-pump in the kitchen and the fan heater in the lounge room definitely warmed up the home beautifully. All the appliances in the kitchen are modern and work well. It was easy to whip up a meal for my family. The beds are extremely comfortable and the linen is fresh and clean. The laundry has efficient equipment which worked well. The yard is well fenced and is secure. The backyard is lovely and well cared for. This home is in a quiet suburban street and is located very near a lovely walking track which takes you along the foreshore of the Mersey River. The track leads to the Mersey Bluff Lighthouse and recreational grounds. This is a lovely walk at sunrise and sunset as the colours of the sky reflecting on the river are stunning. Shops, cafes and supermarkets are located 2 blocks away from the home. Sometimes when staying at a house unforeseen & completely random things go wrong. We had a moment on our 1st morning when this was the case. The owners Kylie & Andrew were so helpful. They came over straight away and quickly dealt with the issue. Within 30 minutes the issue was resolved & after that everything was fine. I would recommend this sweet cottage to anyone wanting to spend a few days exploring the region. Thanks, Georgie xxx
This was a lucky/auspicious find for me, having travelled to Devonport to buy the place next door. I stayed 4 nights and it was perfect. I was worried about being cold in June as I live 1000 miles north...but no problem. The house is well- insulated, has reverse cycle air conditioning, an extra heater in the tv room, and electric blankets. I was snug as could be. It's immaculately clean, ordered and uncluttered. Plenty of space for your things...and your thoughts. The bathroom was my favourite - a gorgeous deep claw bath, a shower like a waterfall in the wet season, a fabulous concrete polished floor and a sunny north facing window, The location is quite a feature - it's so quiet but only a short level walk to the CBD, the big supermarkets, library, restaurants, tourist info centre, bus stops ...and don't miss the amazing Hill St Grocer in the next street. You could come off the Spirit of Tasmania and easily stay here without a car. The Mersey River is at the end of the street - walk along Victoria Pde then Bluff Rd to the lighthouse and refuel at The Drift cafe on the way. A lovely spot and Kylie and Andrew have done a great job with their cottage.
