Autres remarques

Weather in the desert can be a real hazard. When it is hot please expect to need 2 gallons of water per person per day minimum if you plan on moving at all, it is recommended to consume a gallon per day per person if you are sedentary in that kind of heat. Daytime temps in the summer climb over the 110 degree mark. In the winter it can be quite cold at night, sometimes freezing for a week at a time. Winter storms and Summer monsoons are also something to consider when planning to travel to the high desert. Flash flooding can get you stranded and the wet desert floor can be difficult to camp on. The National Weather Service is our weather resource, you may use this to gauge your camping weather.

Simple campsite with bonus features like an outdoor tub and hose. We didn't expect that but it was nice to rinse off after a hot day. Host was very communicative and helpful before and during our stay. He even left us a little bit of lighter fluid to use bc we forgot ours. The site is well planned and equipped for Joshua Tree.

Alicia and Tad were very welcoming hosts. They communicated well with us prior our arrival and their property is easy to find. Alicia welcomed us with a cold beer (which was much needed after the 35+ degree day), they gave us a tour of the sites and introduced us to their pet doggos. The campsite was quiet and sites were well equipped with everything you could need (even a misting gazebo!)... The location is very close to Joshua Tree NP and a store if needed. Overall we had a great stay, we would recommend! :)

This was a perfect alternative when camping in Joshua Tree is packed! Alicia and Tad were very friendly and accommodating! Beautiful way to see the stars at night, too :)

Dirtbag campground is perfect. It's like camping in J Tree, which is perfect when the park is full. All the amenities you need for camping.

The views are stunning... there is the amazing desert sky at night, and of course the awesome mountains! Alicia is an excellent host. She communicates clearly, is accessible, and gives accurate information. AND the porta potty on-site is undoubtedly the cleanest porta potty I have ever used! :-)
