Renovated apartment in the Cape Town city center midway between Table Mountain cableway and the V&A Waterfront in the vibrant and cosmopolitan Gardens area. You will only have to leave the building to enjoy the city. Gardens is renown for its restaurants and bars, and there is a wide variety within easy walking distance. Long Street and Bree Street are also on your doorstep. Public transport and taxis are available directly outside 24/7. This space embodies comfort and convenience.

Le logement
The apartment is on the 2nd floor, in the corner of the block, and is serviced by 2 lifts. It has a king size bed in one room and 2 singles in the other. You can push the 2 singles together to make another king size bed. It is fully kitted out. The living area opens on to Kloof Street, a busy and vibrant thoroughfare. The bedrooms are at the rear of the building and they each have a partial view of Table Mountain. The apartment is not my home so there is no personal clutter. The apartment building itself is in need of a clean-up but once you are in the flat you will really enjoy the space.

Accès des voyageurs
All the attractions of Cape Town are easily accessible, many just a short walk away. If you need to travel further, the area has many taxis, including Uber, and the apartment is on a MyCiti bus route which heads over Kloof Nek into Camps Bay, just 10 minutes away. It will take 10 minutes to get to the Table Mountain cableway by taxi. The Hop On Hop Off bus service passes close by and their ticket offices are a 850m away down Long Street. The V&A Waterfront is a 10 minute drive and it will take you 20 minutes to get to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. (Times assume ordinary traffic.)

Autres points à prendre en note
There is no parking allocated to the apartment.

Guests often ask me to recommend restaurants in the area. This is difficult as there are so many. I do however have some top tips. The South China Dim Sum bar is at 289 Long Street, less than 200m from the apartment. It has no view and looks very unassuming. It is not a place for a drawn out dinner. The dim sum is however the best in town. 2 doors from the Dim Sum bar is the Royal Eatery. Here you will find Cape Towns best burgers. The sweet potato chips are also great. In Park Road, (turn right about 200m up Kloof Street), you will find Ricks Café Americain. It has a Moroccan theme, but serves a variety of great food both upstairs and down. It also has a great bar atmosphere. In Rheede Street, (turn left about 200m up Kloof Street), you will find Sawadee, a traditional and authentic Thai restaurant serving great Thai food. At the top of Kloof Street (a 3 minute Uber ride away) is my current favourite, the Bombay Bicycle Club. The eclectic décor of the place changes your mood and the food is served by the best wait staff in the area. Kloof Street House, about 50m up Kloof street on the right is an upmarket establishment serving excellent French food. For authentic Italian go to Nonna Lina at 64 Orange Street, or Mitico, just opposite the Lifestyle on Kloof Centre. Great Mexican food and beer can be found at the Fat Cactus, just across from Ricks Café in Park Road. Freshly made quality Sushi at affordable prices is available directly below the apartment, at Best of Asia, or if you are looking for a more stylised (and more expensive) sushi offering go to the Sushi Box in the lifestyle centre 350 m up Kloof Street. This list does not even scratch the surface. For more info and recommendations search Kloof Street Restaurants or Gardens restaurants on the web, or if you want to walk for an extra 5 minutes, search for Bree Street Restaurants.

This is the city centre and the neighbourhood is busy, with traffic passing by 24/7. Being close to the city centre comes with big benefits, you can walk to many of the attractions and you can walk home after a fun night out on the town. You will also not waste your holiday (and your money) travelling in and out of the city centre. The apartment is also close to many tourist attractions and academic institutions, including the UCT Michaelis School of Fine Art, the High Court and many embassies and consulates. It is energetic, cosmopolitan and vibrant. The area is littered with restaurants and pubs. Breakfast is served at many places just a stones throw away, and if you want to party you need only walk up Kloof Street or down Long Street after dark. But remember, this is the city centre, so look after yourself and don't flash your valuable belongings, there are petty thieves looking out for unsuspecting tourists. Be sensible and you will be safe.

I am an aging teenager who has been practicing law in Cape Town for 26 years. I know that time on earth is limited and I am trying to make the most of mine. I believe that the journey can be just as important as the destination. I am practical and positive and I make the best of circumstances. I look forward to meeting new people, you included!

I live in the quieter suburbs, 15 minutes drive away, but I have an office 300m away in Kloof Street, which I visit most days of the week, so I can be easily accessible if you need me.
