Échanges avec les voyageurs
I work close by so if there are any problems or if you need some advice or recommendations during your stay just give me a shout.
I am very social and easy going and really enjoy other peoples company. I want guests to feel at home when they are here however I expect guests to be clean and to respect my property which goes without saying. I expect any pets to be well trained and under control so there is no damage incurred during the stay.
No pets that aren't fully house trained please.
A little bit about me...
I'm originally from Ireland but have lived in Scotland for the last 16 years. I came here to study and liked it so much I stayed. I'm a very social, active and open minded person who loves to listen and possibly learn from other peoples travel stories and life experiences. I have plenty of experiences of my own and I enjoy swapping a story or two with likeminded people over a dram or a cup of tea/coffee. That being said I'm not an 'in your face' type of person who speaks for the sake of speaking, I respect other people’s privacy and space if that's what they want.
I love the great outdoors so I'm always out either hillwalking, mountain biking or simply taking the dog for a run. If these are the sort of things you like then I can give you plenty of local knowledge on the many hidden gems that are close to the property. You can even borrow my bike if I'm not using it myself. I also love Glasgow and what the city has to offer so you will find me at random events, comedy clubs, theatre, gigs etc. Glasgow provides the perfect balance of city and outdoor life having everything you need minutes away in every direction. We also benefit from having Edinburgh and its many festivals less than an hour and a direct train away from Clydebank station.
I have an interest in books and have a good collection on many topics, Fact, Fiction, History, Art to name but a few, if you like to read then I'm sure there'll be something there for you.
I have also recently found a love for Scotch Whisky and the processes involved in making it, I have a small collection which I’m happy to let people sample if they are interested. I also have a love of Art and you will find a few pieces old and new hanging on the walls. The décor in my flat, as you can see from the pictures, is cosy and traditional which I think sits well with the Scottish theme. Don't let the traditional décor fool you though, I love my gadgets and technology and from being a Sound Engineer in a past life, I have the flat well and subtly equipped with everything the modern traveller/business person/student would expect and need.
In the past when I travelled I used hostels which were great for meeting people but not great for finding the hidden gems that only the locals of each city know. This is why I have went the Airbnb route and why I'm excited about being a host in this fantastic city.
Well that's a bit about me; I look forward to hearing more about you and possibly welcoming you as a guest.
In the meantime, happy and safe travels...
