Kea is a beautiful island belonging to the famous Cycladic complex that is located only 1hour away by boat from the port of Lavrio, which itself is 30' drive from Athens Int. Airport. After reaching the port of Kea Elea Housing Apartments are just 25klm away, in the area of Koundouros. Elea is one of the best choices of Holiday Houses for visitors on the island because of the SouthWest orientation (granting the houses a stunning Aegean sea wiew!) and it' s traditional stone built architecture.
Eleas Main House can accommodate 4-7 people. It has one double master bedroom and one twin bed bedroom, both with wardrobes. In the fireplace lit living room, a comfy couch turns into a double bed and a stone built sofa can accommodate another one adult or 2 kids. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, one bathroom and a dining area. One more spacious dinning table with a big couch and 2 comfortable armchairs, ideal for relaxing and sunset viewing, are found in the House's exterior veranda. Basic House cleaning and new linen are provided twice a week.

Due to poor public transportation on the island ok Kea, visitors resort to renting their own means of transport, either from the port of Lavrio or from the port of Kea. Radio taxis are also available on the island. Eleas visitors though are highly privileged since Eleas Housing Apartments are located not only in a quite part of the island but also very close by to 3 different types of beautiful Greek beaches. All beaches less than 1 klm away from the house are naturally protected from the strong North summer winds. The first beach is about 200 meters away, a distance easily walked. Its combination of rocky and sandy parts makes it ideal for fishing and rock diving. The second beach is about 500 meters away. It is sandy beach organized ideal for sea sports and diving lessons. The last beach is about
800 meters away and has an organized sandy beach part with sun beds, umbrellas, café bar and restaurant. Other excursions made possible by car or motorbike from the center area of Koundouros are beautiful hiking routes. Visitors can easily reach many locations of historic interest and traditional architecture. Last but not least Eleas guests can find themselves socializing and mingling with Keas native inhabitants in numerous summer festivals of traditional Greek dancing to live music and Greek fine food and wine tasting.
One of the biggest sights of the island is the prehistoric settlement of Ayia Irini with ruins found in the northern side of Kea. Sources report that it was destroyed by a powerful earthquake little afterwards the big acne during the 15th century B.C.
Ancient Carthaia was one of four cities that flourished on Kea in antiquity. The most important ruins in the area are, the fifth-century-B.C. temple of Apollo marked by six decorated columns; the temple of Athena, built in the late sixth century to early fifth century B.C. Fragments of a sculptured pediment with scenes from the battle of the Amazons have been unearthed at the site.
In the centre of Kea you can see the Tower of Ayia Marina, a tall building between the ancient cities Korissos and Poiessa which was founded at the Hellenistic period.
Other beautiful sights of the island are the monastery of Panagia Kastriani, perched on Kastri hill; the lion of Tzia, sculptured in a rock above Ioylida and the renovated stone mills in Koyndoyros.
The Town Hall at Ioulida, a neoclassical building erected in 1902 and decorated with ceramic sculptures of Apollo and Hermes and the neoclassic school of Ioylidas are designs of the Bavarian court architect Ernst Ziller.
In the central square of Ioylida you can find admirable drawing by the famous painter Alekos Fasianos.
The acropolis of ancient Ioulis with visible ruins of the temple of Apollo and medieval fortifications added in the 13th century.
