A 17th century's historical monument, built in a strategical point in the village of Exochori, supervises the area, providing an unobstructed view of the Messinian Bay and the Taygetos Mountain. Renovated with respect and decorated with antiques, offers a fascinating journey into the past of Mani.
Kitriniaris tower with its arch shaped windows and doors, unique gun loops and murder holes, demonstrates a very special example of pre-revolutionary fortification in Mani.
Towers in Mani were a symbol of power. Only the powerful families could build one. Kitriniaris family was a powerful family and became informaly captains of the mountainous villages of Androuvista. This tower, built in the 17th century, is the oldest and the best preserved of the 4 towers of the Kitriniaris family.
The bedrooms are located inside the tower, connected with a wooden staircase. As a genuine defensive tower of Mani there is no door to divide the bedrooms.
