What a fantastic place. We stayed with our three children (under 5) and it was so good to have such a spacious place to be in. Our girls loved playing in the garden. I've never heard my girls sing so much... it was a mixture of being so happy and also loving the resonant acoustics in the different rooms!! As you walk through the gate you are greeted by wafts of lovely lavender. The house is immaculately furnished in very cool pieces of furniture. Lee was very communicative and helpful host.

Great place for our family holiday. So nice to swim in the sea everyday, can't believe it was so warm! Our 3 year old loved all the beaches and dreamland. Felt like we could have stayed another week. Lovely house and garden. Great cafe nearby and main town within east walk. Planning another trip soon!

Lee's place is lovely. We have two kids and they really enjoyed staying at Lee's place. About a 15 to 20min walk to the beach but if you have a car around 10 mins to Broadstairs Botany Bay etc. He left us fresh milk and teas and coffees which we greatly appreciated. There is also a dishwasher which comes in handy. There is a small quaint garden that gets a lot of sun. All in all a great stay, thank you

It was a huge, grand house with oodles of period charm in a quiet street. I would thoroughly recommend Lee's home for a stay in Margate, nice and close to the beach and shops.

Lee's place is roomy and comfortable. It was great to have two off road parking spaces. We had everything we needed for our stay, a well equipped kitchen and plenty of towels. The house is very conveniently positioned, being a 10-15 minute walk downhill to Margate Old Town, where we found lovely restaurants, Mullins and The Ambrette to name but two. Lee contacted us to make sure all was well, which we appreciated. We would thoroughly recommend Lee's house as a great place for a weekend/short break. We hope to return next year.

This area of Kent is definitely worth exploring. South of margate, there are some beautiful towns and villages, but you will need transport. Broadstairs, samdwich, deal and St. Margaret's at Cliffs are our recommendations. Margate is a bit run down, but the old town has some charm.

Hi, I'm Lee! I work as an art dealer mainly, so I spend my time looking at art, talking about art, and finding art for other art lovers. This is my home which I share with my son Finn, who is eleven (going on 70).

Margate is such a great place to be - I moved down here from London a year or so ago. It's the first time I've lived by the sea so it's quite a revelation. It gives me much more opportunity to enjoy the countryside and pursue my (non-art) interests. I love wild swimming and walking in the hills, so it serves me well! Finn is loving the coastal cycling, and the local pool hall means he is honing his hustling skills. Seriously, he's better than me.

I'm a huge astrophysics enthusiast and the skies are much darker and clearer here than in London, so I can geek out nightly!

I love Airbnb, and really believe in it. It's given me the opportunity to explore places from a local perspective. I regularly go on little retreats to clear my head, explore and be quiet. I've Airbnb'd in remarkably remote places in Iceland, Taiwan, Sweden, Malaysia, and the Southern US, to name a few!

You'll probably see from the house that I'm a voracious reader - the shelves (and several boxes in the walk-in wardrobe upstairs) are filled with books on history, philosophy, geography, cartography, astrophysics, Winnie-the-Pooh and (obviously) art. Finn's collection is ever-expanding too. I'll need to build some more shelves...

Thanks for checking the listing, I hope to speak to you soon!
