Waleed is probably the best host I ever had on AirBNB. He's very friendly and pr(EMAIL HIDDEN)munication was always great, fast and responsive and he gives complete answers. Before I booked his place I asked some questions which he took the time to answer carefully. When his place was booked then he offered me another better place to make up for it. When I arrived his associate Salim met me at the airport and drove me to the apartment. When I needed to rent a car he took me back to the airport and helped me find one to rent. When I messaged him with any concerns he would always reply very promptly. All around great host.
About the apartment: it's quite comfortable. Big soft couch. TV with lots of channels. Two large bedrooms. The location is not the best- a bit far from most of the things you would want to see or do in Tunis, but the neighborhood is okay. There is a supermarket down the street, a lot of little shops around and a decent sushi restaurant nearby, too, that is open late. I appreciated the free underground parking on the premises.
The only things that were not perfect: 1) the security guard in the building is rude and should learn to mind his own business. It's not illegal in Tunisia to meet with a Tunisian girl; but typical possessive man from this region- he came chasing after us barking questions and accusations, which really upset both of us. There was no need for this at all, he should not have said anything. 2) there is a problem with the key opening the front door, Waleed said he would fix it. 3) the shower in the bathroom leaks water all over the floor if you are not careful, and there is no drain. Again, probably this can be fixed with some cauk or maybe a shower curtain.
Otherwise everything was great.
