Emigrant, Montana, États-Unis

We are located in the upper foothills of Paradise Valley with homes on predominately 2-acre or larger parcels. You'll occasionally see deer, bunnies and a variety of birds. I've only once heard the bugle of an elk.

I am friendly, outgoing, peaceful. Love living in this beautiful state of Montana. Twenty-one years ago I received a call from my mother's friend, telling me there was something very wrong with her... that she was not acting like her normal self. In speaking with Mom and asking her questions, I, too, could hear that something wasn't quite right. At the time I lived in Charlotte, NC, and was scheduled for surgery in a few days. I called my mother's friends, found out more, started asking if there was a good doctor who specialized in senior issues. Received the name of Dr. Scofield at the Livingston Hospital. Called his office, explained the situation, was immediately connected with his nurse. Within minutes, Dr. Scofield was on the phone with me, asking me questions, suggesting that Mom come in for an appointment. He would run some tests, both cognitive and physical. They set an appointment, arranged for a taxi to pick up my mother from her hotel room and bring her to his office. Dr. Scofield's final question to me was, "If we do all this and determine that your mother does have some form of dementia, are you willing to take care of her?" Wow! One, I was blown away by the fact that they would go to such lengths to help my mother and determine her mental/physical needs. They did not know me from Adam. I thought for a minute and realized, my mother brought me into this world. How could I not care for her when she needed help. I tell you all this just so you know the caliber of people in this fine community. People help each other out. They genuinely care. It's not about the almighty dollar at all. It's about, "What's your situation? What do you need? How can I help?" And it's never stopped since I came out here a couple days before Christmas in 1995.
