Dennis's property was perfect for our weekend stay. The landscape was gorgeous and the cabin was charming and accommodating. I recommend using one of Dennis's coffee presses and enjoying a cup of coffee while watching the sun rise over the back of the property. The place is located near Three Oaks which has great shops and dining options. It is also close to the beaches of New Buffalo. The area is scenic and, if you are prepared for rolling hills, lovely for a bike ride. Dennis and his dog Bear are very kind hosts. We will definitely be staying with them again.
Dennis's cottage was the perfect place to get away for Labor Day weekend with our pup! Close proximity to Three Oaks, Sawyer, and downtown New Buffalo. The cottage itself was very comfy and clean, no detail was overlooked. Coffee/tea was available in the kitchen, as well as a bottle of wine to greet us upon arrival! Bear, the friendly host dog, was nice enough to show us the way down the trails to the creek. We will defineltly book here first if we stay in the area again!
An ideal place to get away and relax. Beautiful property with lots of charm. A creek in the back of the property is an easy walk and a fantastic place to watch sunsets. Dennis was very accommodating and welcoming with a nice bottle of wine. Used a few herds from his garden for dinner. Grilling out was one of our favorite parts of the trip. Comfortable, cozy, secluded yet not far away from New Buffalo. Highly recommended!
Dennis has a lovely property... there are a couple of cabins on site, along with his private home and barn studio. There are amazing flowers everywhere, and cool art in the gardens. The cabin we stayed in was comfy and clean. We took a night stroll on the grounds to the river. Wish we had more time this particular trip, but we do plan on coming back... thanks, Dennis!
Dennis's place is a gem - I didn't actually realize the cottages are set in front of a soybean farm and it's just a short walk to a river bed. It's a really a beautiful and peaceful setting. The Puryear cabin was equipped with more than the usual you'd expect - there were lilies from the garden, a bottle of Spanish wine, and if you want to cook, Dennis also provides all kinds of spices, pots and pans, a french coffee press, wine glasses and really nice and artsy dishes. The other cottages on site are also artfully decorated and furnished, each with something unique. Several state parks are a relatively short drive, some great hiking trails that take you over the dunes. The cottages also have outdoor furniture so you might just want to relax among the butterflies and hummingbirds and read a book in the garden setting. Dennis's sidekick, his dog Bear, was the perfect host as well to my two micro dogs.
