Nature lovers will be in heaven in this 1,100 square foot cabin/apartment located on 24 acres with hiking trails and wildlife. This garage apartment has a separate entrance, satellite TV, fully stocked kitchen, fireplace with gas logs, pine ceilings & walls with rustic furnishings located on the top of a ridge. Watch the sunrise and set from this fabulous location. Bears, deer and wild turkeys roam the property. If you are looking to unplug, this is the perfect spot.

Le logement

This 1,100 square foot cabin/apartment is an open concept, one bedroom with a cathedral ceiling and lots of windows looking out over the lush forest. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook meals along with condiments, drinks, snacks, coffee & tea and a few basic breakfast items. Paper products, kitchen towels, bath towels, linens and cleaning supplies are also included.

The space is large and roomy but is limited to four guests maximum. There is a one bedroom loft with a queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa downstairs in the living room. There is a gas grill on the deck along with an outdoor table & chairs with an umbrella. Sit and enjoy a cup of coffee on the couch while enjoying the gas logs. Take a walk through the woods on one of our mile plus trails. Stargaze at night with no light pollution and not another house in sight. Listen to the owls, the doves and other wildlife from your private deck. There is also a hammock in the trees & a double swing to enjoy the sunset. Pets are considered if well trained. Please message me for approval.

We do not have wifi in the apartment but cell reception is not a problem for most nationwide carriers (4G).

Accès des voyageurs

Guests will have access to all outdoor areas on the property including the main deck for viewing sunsets, a fire pit, and walking trails.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We live in the main house on the property and are happy to assist with any needs of our guests.

Autres remarques

There is a guest book in the cabin with directions to local attractions, restaurants, and grocery stores. We are in a remote area but are about 35 minutes from the closest large city of Boone.

If you are arriving in the winter months (November - March) please be aware that it may snow. (We love snow!!) We scrape our gravel road, however, there still may be an inch or so on the road. AWD or 4-wheel is advised in bad weather. The main roads in the area are always clear to accommodate the snow skiers but secondary roads can be a challenge.

Our stay at this cabin more than exceeded our expectations! Quite cozy and in a prime location. We were only there for 3 days and really hope to spend more time next time. We will definetly stay here on our next trip to the mountains. Tami was extremely hospitable. We unfortunately didn't have a chance to meet Tami personaly but she definetly made sure we were squared away. I would most definitely're this place to anyone looking to enjoy the mountains and it's extremely close to all sorts of things to do

I cannot say enough nice things about this property! The photos don't do it justice. We had an easy check in and we're able to meet Tami and Mike later during our stay. They, and their dog, are absolutely delightful. The cabin is tastefully decorated and in perfect working order. The lines and towels are all top notch. Everything was immaculately clean. To have such a great place be dog friendly is such a rare find. We will be back for more climbing in the Gorge, and hope to stay at Tami's little retreat again!

Words cannot express how relaxing and gorgeous this home is! It is obvious that Tami and Mike have put much love and thought into this oasis, and we are thankful that they chose to share it with us. We are already talking about our “next time” there!

My wife and I decided to stay at this fantastic location for a little short anniversary getaway. It was fantastic! I'm usually a very budget minded traveler and Tami's place was a little more than I usually spend, but it was worth every penny! She was a fantastic host and very easy to communicate with before we arrived. The house itself was immaculate! Nicer than any hotel I've ever stayed in. We didn't have any trouble finding the house and it was very close to all the local attractions we were looking forward to seeing (Linville Falls, Viaduct, Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Gorge, etc.). Tami also thought of just about everything in the house. There were towels by the door to dry off pets and seats outside. The fridge was stocked with condiments, drinks, and other essentials. There was coffee (my wife was very excited). She even had instructions for how to watch TV and movies. Overall we had a nice stay and definitely plan to come back and stay again!

The accommodations were everything we had hoped for and more. More than 1/2 mile from the main road made for quiet nights to hear the sounds of nature. Away from the city lights allowed for great star gazing and watching the deer and wild turkeys on the property were a welcome bonus. The kitchen was stocked with the breakfast necessities and Tami was in constant communication throughout our stay. Just a short drive from the best hiking trails in Western NC. When we returned from hiking time spent in the hammock was just what we needed. We hope to return someday soon!

Our stay at Tami's was amazing. As avid hikers, her information about the local trails was invaluable and help us see some truly amazing vistas we may have otherwise missed. The Cabin is spotless and feels like home the moment you enter. All of the little touches with food items, plates/utensils, notes on local attractions and hiking etc., show how much Tami and her husband want their guests to have a perfect stay. I can't recommend staying here enough, especially if you are in the area to hike or do outdoor activities. It is perfect.

Tami & Mike's place was spectacular. Easy access, beautiful scenery, and so much more. My family and I are so grateful to have been able to meet Tami and Mike and enjoy their piece of heaven. Words will not describe it, you'll have to enjoy it yourself. Would definitely visit again.

My husband and I have been blessed to own this piece of paradise for the last 6 years. We have traveled all over the US and abroad but nothing quite compares to the mountains of NC! We love the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, fishing and camping. We also love sharing our little slice…
