This property is over 400 years old. It has preservation orders on its outside and internal wall. It was owned by a blacksmith, and there still remains ancient nails etc sticking out of beams etc. Floors and walls have the character you would expect of a building this age, so do not expect many straight lines on floors or walls!
'Corner Cottage' once belonged to Major Rabon (Rawbone) of Cromwell’s Army in 1660. In 1669 it was reported to the Bishop that Presbyterian conventicles were being held in this house.
- All internal walls have preservation orders and your assistance in not sticking anything to them or on them would be much appreciated
We understand its tempting to squeeze in a few extra friends, but in order to maintain the inside to the high level it is presented in, and to protect the property from damage, it would be preferred if the number was kept to those using provided beds only. If you require more guests to stay please let me know.
Beds will only be made up for paying guests. If two guests require both double beds made up in both bedrooms, the rate will be as per 4 guests.
