Rent a real Portland family home! Summertime in our neighborhood means patio or food-cart dining, bike-rides to the Alberta Arts district or Mississippi Avenue, neighborhood street fairs, or morning sunbeams on our peaceful front porch.
We have a fenced yard with kid stuff, a shady back patio, and lots of great spaces for cocktails, reading, or bird-watching.
A few minutes to downtown by car and close to BikeTown bike rental, it's a great vacation base or relaxing getaway.
Child Safety Disclaimer: Our home is kid-friendly, but child-proofing methods are unique to every family! We provide a safety gate and keep cleaners out of reach (but most of our cleaners are green). Some of the bookcases are anchored to the wall but it is difficult to securely anchor items to a lathe-and-plaster wall. It is up to the guests to monitor their children! Outlets are not covered in all cases. Bookcases and dressers are not to be climbed. Be cautious of the steps and banisters. Houseplants are not edible. Under the kitchen sink is off-limits to children. Toilets do not have child latches on them. The water heater gets hot, but is not set to scalding! Swinging door into dining room can be tricky for little walkers. If the woodstove is started, do not leave door open and always monitor children near it; there is no screen. The yard is fenced, but gates must be kept latched and the fences aren't meant to be climbed on. The pond is covered, but the cover isn't meant to be walked on. We have a trampoline on the premises, and it has a safety net. The rules are clearly posted and it is not recommended that more than one child be jumping at any given time. Always zip the net closed before jumping. Thank you!
