Built in 1948 there is a blend of old with new, with updated modern styling mixed with old character - think stainless steel with coved ceilings! The living spaces feature two comfortable beds with luxurious linens, a cozy and inviting living room with big screen tv, modern and functional kitchen and dining room, two spotless washrooms, and a beautiful backyard with a spacious two level deck surrounded by welcoming green space. Dog friendly home with fully fenced yard. Lots of free parking!
The photos show it all - Upstairs is the kitchen, living room, main bedroom, main bathroom, and dining room overlooking the garden. Downstairs a second large bedroom, small half bathroom, and the laundry room. All bedrooms have down duvets and quality luxury linens!
The kitchen is well equipped with everything one would need to pull off a holiday dinner!
There is a two level deck in the back yard, accessible from the dining room and back door. There are several deck chairs and tables, a picnic table, an easy to use shade umbrella, and propane BBQ for guests to enjoy.
There is also a large driveway and carport - lots of room if you have a trailer or boat as well.
My house is dog friendly - the back yard is fully fenced and dogs are welcome throughout the home. I do ask that guests clean up after their pets (a bin is provided), use the provided dog towels to dry off their dogs after muddy adventures, and try to keep them off the beds and furniture. Unless dogs are completely trustworthy they are not to be left unattended.
My home meets every requirement of a business travel address - except the "no pets in the home" requirement. Hey, if you're travelling with your dog while working, my home would be perfect!
Accès des voyageurs
Guests have full access to the main living space, back yard, and driveway.
There is one storeroom that I leave unlocked, as it contains the fuse panel for the house, but I ask guests to stay out unless they need to flip a switch. There is also a garage/workshop (read...disaster zone) that guests will not have access to.
Pet Policy - Dogs only; Please let me know if you intend to bring your dog. They must be non-chewers, non-diggers. If dogs not 100% trustworthy they must not be left unattended. Guests expected to clean up their pets waste, or lose security deposit.
Usually when hosting I will be away at sea studying BC's whale populations - While I can't be there in person I do intend to stay in touch through the Airbnb website. If I'm truly off the grid my lovely mother Marg has agreed to be a cohost of my listing and will also be reachable via the Airbnb website.
Hi, My name is Robin, and I have lived in Nanaimo for over 10 years now. I work as a Marine Mammal Research Technician studying endangered whales along the British Columbia coast. Before I settled down in Nanaimo, my interest in wildlife ecology took me to Shark Bay Australia to study dugongs and tiger sharks, Hawaii to study humpback whales, Florida to study sea turtles, and northern Vancouver Island to work as a whale watching naturalist. Now that I call Vancouver Island home, when Im not working I enjoy skiing, snowboarding, hiking, beachcombing, and walking my goofy chocolate lab Mocha. Five things I can't live without - coffee, time outdoors in nature, family&friends, peace&quiet, and laughter!
I thrive on hosting friends and family in my home! I love the feeling it gives me when guests feel comfortable in my home - when they sit back, relax, and enjoy the space! I have worked hard to create a welcoming space to nurture these sensations! With my unique lifestyle, where my work takes me away from home for large amounts of time, I thought it was a no-brainer that I could continue hosting in my home thru airBNB even when I was on the high seas! So please, check out my listing, send me questions, and hopefully come for a stay!
