Welcome to Pilsen! Located south west of downtown, we love the neighborhood and have owned the building for almost 20 years. You'll be staying in the recently updated upstairs unit of an original, two-flat built in the 1880s. Approx 1000 sq ft; new appliances; professionally cleaned.
Pilsen is known for its countless taquerias, vibrant murals, turn-of-the-century architecture, and its dining, drinking, and arts scene. We know all our neighbors; it's that kind of neighborhood. Quiet and on a residential-only street, the apartment is only steps away from the neighborhood's main thoroughfare, home to local favorites such as El Milagro, Honky Tonk, Furious Spoon and Dusek's/Punch House/Thalia Hall.
We describe our home as warm, contemporary and clean. You'll find vintage pieces mixed in with updated touches like new appliances. We use a professional cleaning service to keep the apartment fresh and tidy.

Free to contact us regarding local information and recommendations. We know quite a bit about local food, shopping and music.
Parking: Our block is permitted street parking only. We will provide daily parking permits (one per day; each is good for a 24-hr block of time) upon request.
Heating & Cooling: There is a portable air conditioning unit that cools the main living area. There are 2 window A/C units--one in each bedroom. And, there are ceiling fans in the main area, bedrooms and kitchen.
There is a vintage heating unit for the main space and portable heaters that can be placed in any room. There is no central air/heating system.
Cleaning: We want clean spaces when we travel and believe our guests deserve the same. For the best guest experience, we use a professional cleaning service every time.
Towels & Supplies: Towels are provided in the bathroom. A hair dryer, iron and iron board are also available for your use. Cleaning supplies are available under the kitchen sink.
Cooking: We have provided you with basic cooking tools, spices, tea and coffee. Please do all washing up and leave the kitchen tidy upon departure.

- One of the guests must be the Airbnb account holder who made the reservation.
- More than 4 people staying in the apartment requires pre-approval. Please inquire before booking.
- There is plenty of surrounding street parking, but our block requires a permit. If you need daily parking permits, please let us know when you make your booking so we can make sure the permits are available during your stay.
- The backyard is under construction and off-limits to all guests.
- We've asked our downstairs tenant to respect your privacy; please respect theirs. If you have questions about the apartment during your stay, please ask us.
- Please observe the following quiet hours: 10pm (Mon-Fri).

We cannot promise you an early check-in or bag drop off in advance as it depends entirely on whether we have guests and the time required to clean between guests. If you are interested in checking in early, please let us know and we'll note it on your reservation. In most cases, we won't be able to confirm until less than 24 hours before your arrival.
One of us is a native Chicagoan-- "south side born and raised." And, one of us grew up in the mid-Atlantic before calling California home...and then relocated to Chicago. We love traveling, eating, cooking and hosting together. Happy travels!
