Set within the Brecon Beacons National Park, our place is perfect for walking, cycling and visiting the nearby Bleaenavon World Heritage sites including Big Pit, Blaenavon Ironworks and the Pontypool & Blaenavon Heritage Railway. The charming market town of Abergavenny is only 6 miles away and well worth a visit.
Our home is small but has everything a guest could want. The main benefit of staying with us is our location. Set in the Brecon Beacons, in the village of Llanelly Hill, it is a perfect place for those who want to discover the unique beauty of the area, as well as those interested in industrial history.

We (me and my husband, Bill) retired nearly 8 years ago and moved from the hustle and bustle of the city of Bristol to this beautiful rural setting. We got involved in local groups (history and archaeology) and keep busy doing projects relating to local history - especially industrial archaeology. We have been married for 40 years and have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
We mostly do things together (walks, surveying etc) but Bill is a volunteer presenter on local radio - which he loves. We are now firmly part of the village. I think this is because of our outgoing nature and an enjoyment of meeting people. We have travelled abroad many times but we are now very content with visiting the many and varied interesting places in Wales.
We will do our utmost to be friendly and welcoming hosts and look forward to this new venture in our lives. We have done things in our retirement that we would never have dreamt we would do so our motto is a clich but true - 'You're never too old'
