Built in 1875, Casa de Sobral remains proudly to this day in the same family, which roots in the region dates back to the XVI century and whose main activity was focused on the production and commercialization of wines, some distinguished in International exhibitions (Bronze Medal at Paris Universal Exhibition 1900, Gold and Silver Medals at Rio de Janeiro International Exhibition 1908). As the Historian Antonieta Moura said, "To tell this family’s history is to do some history of our land...".
Casa de Sobral has been, since 2008, under a profound renovation that now allows to receive comfortably those who want to visit this beautiful region of Portugal, that hosts fantastic beaches, the biggest oriental garden in Europe, Golf courses and wine-tasting holidas in vineyards that extend as far as the horizon guarded by the towering castle of the medieval village of Óbidos.
