The reason this isn't a five star review is because we had a problem with the check-in. This might have been an exception, because other reviews mention Philip's smooth check-in (even meeting them at the train station and walking them to the apartment), but we did not receive this warm welcome.
We reached out to Philip the day before our arrival (he did not reach out to us), and he said that either he or his girlfriend would meet us with the keys. The next morning at 6am, he messaged us and said it would be best to meet before work at 8am, or he could meet us at lunch or after work (his girlfriend had also been called in to work). Unfortunately, we do not wake up at 6am while we are on vacation, so by the time we got this message it was too late to meet early.
We arrived in Malmo around 10am, but we had to put our luggage in a storage locker at the train station because Philip could not meet us until 12 (he originally offered 12:30, but we pressed him to meet earlier). We were only staying in Malmo for one day, and having to stay near the apartment for check-in, and then go back and forth to the train station to get our luggage, cost us valuable time that we could have spent seeing the city. Very disappointing for an apartment that specifically listed a "flexible" check-in, which was one of the reasons we booked it.
When we finally got the keys, the apartment was large and nicely decorated. It was on a quiet street just a couple blocks from Lilla Torg and Stortorget, and right around the corner from one of Malmo's most revered restaurants. The bed was comfortable, and we loved the little indoor patio. We only hope that future guests will have a better experience with their arrival, because we know they will enjoy the space.
