Our house is just off vibrant Duke Street in East Glasgow. This is a playfully decorated two bedroom house with enough space to sleep 6 people. The house is very light and airy with big windows and high ceilings. In addition to the two bedrooms, there is a very big living room, kitchen and two bathrooms with showers and a boat bar (that's a bar in the shape of a boat). The house has a private front entrance on the quiet residential street with a small front garden.
The front bedroom is an art installation with a 1:2 replica of the room housing the mattress in the centre of the room. This offers a unique experience for those who have wondered what it feels like to be a giant. There is a wardrobe with plenty of storage and an ensuite bathroom with a shower attached.
The back bedroom has a two metre high mezzanine for the bed. Using the ample height of the ceilings, this platform creates an intimate sleeping space that feels a lot like an adult treehouse. There is a beautiful desk and plenty of storage for clothes beneath the mezzanine.
The living room features a big bay window reading space looking onto the front garden. The boat bar and salmon wall give the room oodles of character and let's you pretend you're on a cruise. The sofa can be folded out into a comfortable small double bed.
The kitchen offers a gas hob, fridge/freezer, dish washer and washing machine and is a nice social space for nights when you want to eat in. If you're handy with a dial, you might be able to find some sweet tunes on the radio from the local radio stations.
It's free to park on our street and all the other surrounding residential roads however it does get busy. Duke Street and Bellgrove stations are both a five minute walk away with regular trains that head direct in to Glasgow Queen Street (literally a 5 minute train ride). There are regular and fast services between Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley as well as good connections to other parts of Scotland.
- No shoes in the house please (cream carpet is a killer)
