Our beautiful Georgian House (1812) is located in Heavitree, Exeter. Heavitree has its own shops, pubs, restaurants and cafe's, but is also within walking distance to Exeter quay and Exeter City Centre. Both double rooms we have available are large, clean, and have tea/coffee making facilities... We also run The Daisy Cafe, which is 2 minutes walk down the road, so a great breakfast can be included too for a reduced price. We have a stunning South facing walled garden at the back of our house, which you are welcome to share. Parking is available.
Grade 2 listed Historical home - the rumours are that Napoleon stayed here in 1815...
We are within walking distance to Exeter Quay which is great and has a good selection of unique shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. We are also within walking distance of the city centre (20 minutes), but there is a bus stop virtually outside our house, and taxis are plentiful and reasonable.
We thought we had better mention the following points due to some slightly unexpected negative feedback we had from one guest regarding our home:
Our house is on three floors so it may not be suitable for elderly or disabled people.
Both of the bedrooms we rent out have floorboards, not carpets. They are the original Georgian floorboards, so they are not perfect as they are over 200 years old, but they add character and we love them:)
We have two bathrooms; one that we keep for ourselves when we have guests staying, and we invite guests to use our spacious family bathroom. If both rooms are occupied the bathroom would be shared.
We don't have full wardrobes in either room, but we do have hanging rails with proper wooden hangers.
We are very close to Exeter city centre on the main Heavitree Road; our house does not have double glazing so people who are used to real peace and quiet and/or have double glazing may find it noisy.
Accès des voyageurs
Their own large room and the garden. We prefer to keep our own living areas private, but both of the guest rooms are spacious, and they have chairs to relax in.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
As often as needed:)
We don't offer breakfast at our home, but we do offer a discounted breakfast rate at the cafe we own, which is just down the road from our house (a two minute walk away). There is a kettle in both rooms, and guests can help themselves to milk from the fridge in our kitchen (we do provide a milk jug in each room).
We have a gorgeous cat called Henry who is half Burmese and half Siamese... he likes a chat so we would say that our guests will need to like cats!
