This studio was actually *almost* perfect for our short stay in Austin! I say almost because - let's just get the negative part over with - there was no AC (although it is listed under amenities). There was however, a little portable fan/humidifier thingy that worked well enough to keep us somewhat comfortable, but wasn't enough to keep the whole room cool. We spent a lot of time in the hot summery outdoors exploring the city, which was great, but would be more enjoyable if we had an air-conditioned place to come back to. So it wasn't the most comfortable stay, buuut at that point all I could do was be positive about it. It was my first time in Austin/Texas, so the humidity and heat was kinda new me, but now I know that AC is a necessity. At least in the summer.
But, everything else was great. The place is exactly as pictured! Very clean, new, and neat. The studio was newly renovated/converted, and I think we were actually the first to stay here. The location was probably the best part, we were super close to everything we wanted to do - downtown, Zilker Park, all the good food joints, etc. I'm a big fan of studios and this place was super cozy, spacious, and bright. The bathrooms and kitchen were great, and it's just a very nice place overall. Would literally be perfect with AC.
Communications was easy, exchanging keys and all that were no problem. We accidentally locked ourselves out (oops) and Emily (the person in contact) was super helpful in helping us out with that. Also we left a couple of folding picnic chairs there, which we bought at CVS to use during our 5-6 hour wait at Franklin BBQ (which was less than a mile away from here), soooo perhaps that could be of some use to future guests who want to venture out to the famous BBQ joint. Anyway, had a good stay overall!
