Le logement
[IF you need more room, a kitchen, or have more than 2 people, please see the listing for the 2-bedroom/3 bed apartment on the 3rd floor of this same building: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21822854?adults=1&children=0&infants=0&location=Missoula%2C%20MT%2C%20United%20States&s=bwbT3EM8 ]
March 11, 2020 update, re: Covid-19: I am currently doing all of the cleaning and have added the following steps to my usual routine: heater remote controls, light switches, door knobs, and key fobs are all being disinfected as I leave the room/the last step. Dishes and water carafes are being rinsed with a high-heat sanitizing bleach solution. All linens, including towels, bathrobes, bed sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases AND pillow protective covers, are being bleached and dried on high high (despite my preference for line drying). All blankets are being run through a 10-minute high-heat dry cycle (as recommended by the city's health-safety dept) - I'm doing the same with children's stuffed animals, when they are used. And then I'm turning to my usual careful cleaning. If there's anything you'd like me to add to this list, or know that I should add to this list, please let me know.

Those of you working from 'home": the dining table in the window corner makes an excellent work space. On April 23, in response to guests' increased internet use, I added a second wireless router/account doubling the building's broadband. There's now dramatically more than enough for normal times, enough for these strange times.

And my pre-COVID description:

Your quiet, window-filled unit is on the ground level of the duplex we built in the backyard of our 1927 Craftsman home. Studio contains a private entrance and is equipped with a high-end queen bed, Montana-interest books, maps and hiking guides, a coffee/tea station, microwave and refrigerator, reading chair, and dining table. There is a dedicated parking space just outside your door.

We're 1 block from Missoula's river-front trails, 3 blocks from both downtown & the University of Montana campus, convenient to the I-90 interstate exchange, and within an easy walk of Missoula's best coffee shops, restaurants, theaters, and music venues.

Accès des voyageurs
The studio and the small patio off of the front door are all yours. Your keyed entry opens to a common landing shared by those living upstairs. You also share the laundry room in the SE corner of the building, accessed through the alley/exterior door, with our 2nd-floor tenants.

Autres points à prendre en note
You WILL hear the trains at night - everyone in this hill-rimmed valley hears the trains at night - but the guest suite is at the private northwest corner of our lot, away from the street, and the trains are muted. I have provided ear plugs for the noise sensitive.

Missoula, Montana, États-Unis

We're in the heart of Missoula (almost literally; our historic home is a contributing resource within the National Register of Historic Places "Heart of Missoula" Historic District), at the confluence of the North Hills, Clark Fork River, Crazy Canyon, Mount Sentinel, and Mount Jumbo trail systems and of Rattlesnake Creek and the Clark Fork River. We're a stone's throw from campus - an easy walk over either of two pedestrian footbridges - and a short river walk to happy hour or concerts at the Adam's Center, Top Hat or Wilma, or ice cream at Big Dipper or Sweet Peaks.

From a summer review: "We had a great stay. Downtown was really hoping last night. Apparently, 'First Friday' along with some outdoor event - music in park, raffle, booths, food trucks- and a beautiful sunset. We saw a fisherman catch a fish as he went by, a kayaker practicing near the park, and a guy surfing. Who knew????"

I'm an adjunct professor at the University of Montana, my husband Warren is a therapist, we're both long-time Missoulians, and now -- 4:30 p.m. Sept. 1, 2014, our Airbnb launch -- we're empty nesters. We wish we weren't, but rather than lament the children's flight we decided to build a travel-to-see-the-kids fund.
