We LOVED our stay at Howard's place. We--two adults and two grandkids ages 9 and 10 months--stayed 4 days and 3 nights. We would happily return. Howard patiently and quickly answered my many questions, and his willingness to work with us on checking in/out was so helpful. Love the ability to check in with a lockbox and not have to coordinate a meeting.
The condo is as pictured. It has a large livingroom open to a fully-equipped modern kitchen and two bedrooms (1 w/a king and attached bath and 1 w/2 dbls and a hall bath). Very comfortable beds! The bedrooms are next to each other but are spacious enough that we didn't hear our grandson's TV or he our's. The washer and dryer was so helpful to have. It was super hot during our stay but the A/C kept us cool. There is a table inside for dining but also a table and chairs outside to eat, supervise kids at the pool (to the right in front of the condo), or just watch the boats (docks are directly in front of the condo). A few sand toys and beach towels are available, too.
There is a four-lane road out front, and the Gulf and beaches are just on the other side. While not visible from the condo, they are very close. The road noise is not significant in the condo, and we slept very well. Charter boats for fishing or dolphin cruises are on the docks in front of the condo. We had a great time on the Down Under Dolphin Cruise, and it was nice that it was just steps to get there. Three restaurants are also within short walking distance on the dock. We ordered fresh steamed shrimp as takeout from the Gulf Steamer next door our first night. Highly recommend. Grocery and drugstores are convenient and there are certainly plenty of restaurants, but we liked that Orange Beach isn't as crowded as Gulf Shores, and that this condo rental wasn't in a huge highrise.
In writing a review I always try to think of what might be a challenge for someone. The main things are to be aware of the stairs (about 12); the condo is on the second floor. Although there are places to walk, a car (there's free parking onsite) or Lyft/Uber is needed to do much. And wifi wasn't available at the time of our stay. (Our AT&T phones picked up signal just fine, but no laptop use--which was fine for us.) I hope we get to stay at Howard's place again.
