Welcome to the PDX Basecamp! Your home away from home conveniently located between the airport and the hippest spots in town. We would be delighted to accommodate your travels and provide you with a safe, clean, cozy space to kick up your feet after your Portland adventures. No matter where you're traveling from and what your ethnic, spiritual, or cultural background is, you're welcome here.
Be aware that this private bedroom is in a 6-bedroom house that has other guests and tenants coming and going.
There are many open communal spaces that you are welcome to get cozy in as well. If you can't find the spatula or would like an extra Japanese floor mattress, we got you :)
If you have any specific requests, please feel free to shoot us a message, and we'd be happy to work with your needs.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests have access any of the rooms that are not a bedroom. You are welcome to get cozy in any of the open rooms throughout the house that does not have a door. You are welcome to enjoy any of the coffee and tea in the pantry (some of our local faves). Feel free to use the fridge to keep your Farmer's Market veggies fresh, but please only eat the food you bring so that other guests don't go hungry.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
I work from home which means I'm probably coffee shop hopping or working on the tiny house in the backyard. Feel free to come pick up a hammer! I'd be happy to recommend an eventful day in the neighborhood depending on what your preferences are. Otherwise, if you'd prefer privacy, we will respect your space. We trust you will also respect the privacy of other guests who might also be staying in one of the other rooms as well.
Quiet time after 10pm
After returning from a year-long backpacking trip abroad, I was at a loss of where to call home. So I embarked on the next adventure—to seek out a ‘basecamp’ that I could always return to after travels. As one thing led to another, and I was challenged to define what 'home' means to me, I was compelled build a tiny house. Which led to seeking for the ideal spot to plant my tiny house. It just so happened that the lot I found (or maybe it found me) just so happened to have a five bedroom house on it. So the PDX BASECAMP was born! I have been blessed to return the favor that so many welcoming hosts gave me during my travels. All this to day, it would be my pleasure to provide you with a safe, cozy, and welcoming place to hang your hat, kick up your feet, and swap stories after a long adventurous day from your journey.
