Amazing property. Located in the middle of nowhere about 30-45 minutes up dirt roads from Nicoya. The house is lovely, very beautiful with glass walls that afford a great view of the forest. Bed was comfy although perhaps pillows left a little to be desired, no big deal at all though. Outdoor shower was very cool. No hot water but it's not needed. No A/C either, but the fans are more than sufficient, especially at night. We spent the whole day in the home using the space for meditation, yoga, etc. The location is quite remote so this property is best for those who want to stay in rather than go places and explore. The property itself is also quite pretty. The caretaker and his family are very friendly. Their dogs also hang out on the patio at times, which was quite nice. The farm also has chickens and a horse. Expect some noise from roosters in the morning, but it's a lovely wake up call. A very unique Airbnb stay for sure

So glad to hear you liked the property and the house. Also love that you pointed out some of the great things about the property. One that it is only a short drive from town, but it feels like you are away from it all on your own private reserve and two we do love our caretaker family as they are very friendly down to earth ticos. We do have hot water in the house with an electric pass through hot water heater, perhaps it came unplugged while you were there. Also there is quite a bit of exploring to do right out the door. The property sits on 300 acres of land made up of natural forest and teak trees with two rivers running through it. I personally like to go hiking through the land looking for monkeys, birds and other surprises. The caretakers can also sometimes arrange for horses and are happy to show you to the local swimming holes in the rivers on the property. If you want to get out for the day Samara beach is a 45 minute drive or you can driver further down the coast for some excellent remote beaches. Again so glad you like it and would love to have you back the next time you are in the area.

I grew up in Boulder, Colorado, USA, and now live just down the road in Denver. Growing up around Boulder I developed a great love and respect for nature. Throughout my childhood, my parents encouraged me to take advantage of the opportunities that mountain life provided. We were fortunate to spend our formative years outdoors, and these early experiences led us to truly appreciate nature. The feeling I get from being in a forest rich with lush undergrowth is indescribable, and it gives me a heightened awareness of the life that surrounds us and the connections between all living things.
