Dordogne, awaits, land of medieval hill towns, castles, forests and vineyards! We look forward to welcoming you to our well-equipped and homely gîte, with exclusive use of a 15m pool. Two bedrooms, kitchen, sitting room, shower room, separate WC, utility room, patio area with BBQ. Easy access from Bergerac airport.
The location is rural and peaceful (with only an occasional passing tractor!), but far from isolated. Privacy is good - we're in a very small, quiet village, with a garden and pool that are not overlooked.
Accès des voyageurs
The gîte is a separate, self-contained annex of our large 19th century farmhouse, with its own entrance and driveway. We will not be in residence while you are renting the gîte (unless we specifically agree otherwise at the time of rental), nor will there be anybody else in the main house as we do not rent that out. 20 mins from Bergerac airport, less than 5 mins by car to local facilities in Castillonnès (3 boulangeries!) and more than 30 restaurants within a radius of 10 miles.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We still work full-time in the UK so are sadly unlikely to be at the house while you are there, so you will have exclusive use of the pool! We will leave you our number, though, and we have a proven support team locally who will calmly deal with any emergencies.
- Rubbish and recycling taken to the déchetterie (200m away) at the end of the stay
- Pool safety rules to be observed
We live near Cirencester in a village very close to the infant River Thames. At heart we are also Francophiles and have a long term plan to retire to France. We have two teenage boys, enjoy amateur music-making, love good food, good wine, community life. Graham is mid 50s (at what point do I have to say late 50s?), a Cambridge grad, an accountant, and now Finance Director of an SME. Pauline is a part-time music teacher and church administrator.
