Red House Lodge is a light and airy holiday home in the South Downs National Park. Set within the grounds of a 16th century farmhouse with its own entrance, the lodge is an ideal private base for outdoor activities or a leisurely break. The lodge comfortably sleeps four and is ideal for young families as there is a separate twin room. The double bedroom has an en-suite toilet and basin. There are views of open fields and the South Downs plus plenty of parking.

Le logement
Enter the Red House drive and park up the slope. Red Lodge is to your right by means of a pathway. There are steps leading into the lodge.

Inside there is a cosy lounge with plenty of seating, a dining area and kitchen, two bedrooms, a hall area, shower and toilet, and an ensuite toilet off the double bedroom.

The lodge is heated with a warm air system, which is easy to operate - simply choose the time you require the heating on for, one, two or four hours - and it automatically turns itself off after this time. Hot water is provided by the electric boiler, which should be switched on.

Tea, coffee and cake is provided for you on arrival.

For breakfast we leave tea, coffee, eggs, bread, cereals, milk, marmalade or jam.
Full English breakfast available in the main house on request (additional cost).

Cooking facilities comprise an electric hob and oven, microwave oven, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. Pots, pans, crockery, utensils and cutlery are all provided.

A wifi connection is available and login details are in the lodge. There is no TV, but laptops will stream catch-up TV and movies on wifi.

Petersfield, Angleterre, Royaume-Uni

Petersfield is located in the peaceful Hampshire countryside within the South Downs National Park, a centre for hiking and mountain-biking, yet London is just over one hour away (Waterloo). Travelling south, HMS Victory, the Mary Rose, and HMS Warrior are just 30 minutes away at Portsmouth, accessible by train and car.

Petersfield is also within easy reach of horse racing at Goodwood, the Chichester Festival Theatre, polo at Midhurst, the Watercress Line steam railway at Alresford, historic Winchester, and the beaches at Hayling Island and the Witterings.

There is plenty to do and see in the historic Petersfield market town with its wide selection of pubs, cafes, and boutique shops. There are regular farmers' markets in the town square, and a Saturday market. The Queen Elizabeth Country Park is just a couple of miles away from the town, from where you can visit Butser Hill and Ancient Farm Iron Age settlement.

In the town there is indoor swimming, gym and classes available at the Taro Leisure Centre, and outdoor swimming pool in the summer at Petersfield Lido. Visit the Petersfield Physic Garden (entry is free) and relax in a peaceful 17th century style garden with topiary and historic plants.

For garden lovers, the world-famous RHS Wisley is 40 minutes away via the A3, while the National Trust properties of Uppark and Petworth House in West Sussex are both easily accessible by car or taxi.
