Great location close to supermarkets and the house itself has a lot of potential, it's spacious and has a very nice deep pool, which our children loved. Though in our opinion the house it's not in good standards in order to be rented. One of the bathrooms have a short circuit (the light doesn't work and the key is down), and the other 3 bathrooms definitely need renovation. Specially the one on the ground level. The toilet cover (wooden) is totally moist and for sure needs replacement, there is mold on the kit, the shower and bad tube are very outdated. If you are a coffee lover, make sure you bring your own machine. They have one but it drips coffee while you press the mechanism, as the coffee pot doesn't hold it on. The appliances at the house are all very old, but the stove is a new electric one and the washing machine at the garage is very useful. Microwave, freezer and refrigerator work fine. The dish-washer doesn't work properly so you have to finish up hand washing your dishes. The main concern is the cleanliness of the house, but the whole house and furniture needs an upgrade. The garden also needs cleaning and taking care. Only the pool area looks well maintained. When we arrived the kitchen looked like it was not at all cleaned in a long time. The cupboards smelled like rat poison and the barbecue was very greasy. We called the administrator which promptly sent two cleaners to do the work, so we were happy about the fast action but ideally the house should be clean when/before you arrive. We were annoyed but we decided to have only the kitchen cleaned, not to have the cleaners over the whole day (and lose one of our holiday-days), but in fact the whole house needs a proper cleaning. The walls are so fat/greasy that a napkin sticks on it. Also pay attention to the sliding doors: not all of them lock property even if the lock is on red = locked. Not all the locks are correctly installed. Só to have the house properly locked you need to close the blinds while leaving the house or going to sleep. A small detail but always nice to mention: there are no complimentary toiletries. Bring your own shower cap, soap and shampoo. We also don't understand why keeping dead plants on the house. I added some pictures. It looks better without the dead plants. Our conclusion is: for this money you expect the house fully functional and clean.

Joao's place in Carcavelos is by far one of the most beautiful house I have rented so far on Airbnb. The place is gigantic and can accommodate very easily a family of 6 people I think. The house is clean and very well maintained. The sparkle into this place is definitely the pool. What a pleasure every day to enjoy the garden and this pool!!! Location wise very convenient location close to couple grocery store and 10min drive (even lzss) from beaches. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.
