I rated the stay average to low for two main reasons, though in the end I do believe they were likely anomalies that probably will not be repeated. My husband and I booked a one night stay during a road trip to move to Michigan, with our two cats in tow. Carrie was very accommodating by allowing the cats and the place is downtown, both of which were the most important things to us. We originally booked Carrie's other room two weeks prior, Private Spacious Loft Downtown Cleveland. The day came for us to drive to Cleveland and we'd still not heard a welcome or instructions on how to get into the place. I sent 3 Airbnb messages and left a voicemail via the listed phone number ((SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) voice). We had to call Airbnb to get ahold of her. She gave reasons for not having gotten the messages which seemed plausible but it was frustrating for us. Then, come to find out that the room was not ready for us because she didn't know we were coming! Luckily, she had this other, new listing available and ready to come into, otherwise we'd have had to wait with our two cats for 1-2hours. The new place (the one I am rating now) seemed nicer than the original and it was cheaper, so we agreed to take this one. It was listed at $200 which I think was fair because it's in a great location for food and it allowed pets. It was also clean (aside from what I will describe next) and basically comfortable. We were upcharged to $360 though and we agreed because 1) we were driving and it was all very rushed and 2) it was cheaper than the original booking. Online, it seemed like a premium place to stay. In real life, the room is large and clean, aside from hair left in the shower drain and a used handcloth on the shower curtain rod. Carrie was gracious about the finding and came herself to clean it the next morning and we both agreed it was likely related to a slowly draining tub. The rest of the place was clean, but not as premium as it appeared in the listing. The sheets and bed felt basic and not fluffy/soft. The bathroom had a window which had bathtub non-stick stickers on it rather than a curtain or something that looks like it belonged there. The armchairs were very worn. I have listed suggestions to Carrie privately in how to improve the place and given her ratings on this site, I am sure she will make the necessary changes, but wanted to be honest in my description.
