The house was built in 1860 and has wood floors. Naturally they would have some creaks in spots as we all would if we were blessed to live that long. Our housekeeping staff does their best to keep all areas clean. When renting a room that shares a bath with one other room you will always be subject to the cleanliness and use of the other guests. The neighborhood was voted the number 1 neighborhood in Philadelphia. We are on the edge of the historic district just a short walk to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Constitution Center, Betsy Ross House, Reading Terminal Market, City Hall and the Philadelphia Convention Center. We are 1 block from the Italian Market and 2.5 blocks from the South Street Entertainment District which boast over 200 restaurants and shops. Two oldest Italian restaurants in the US are right next door as well as French, German, Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai restaurants close bye.. The neighborhood is loaded with cafes, shops, 6 coffee houses, Isgro's Italian bakery, Whole Food's market, Flisher Art Memorial, the Magic Gardens and the famous Gino's and Pat's Steaks to name a few.
