Sooner or later I guess I knew I was going to encounter a guest who had so much to say about everything and had an opinion about how everything should be run from installing airconditioning (then I can charge more according to her), to installing screens on all windows (uh, no). Maybe we should also think about expanding the pool for convenience and installing a cascading waterfall? Just a thought. Her comment is not entirely fair about how she interpreted my words while I tried to sort out her issues: clogged sink? I was on the phone immediately and instructed caretakers to take care of their dishes so they won't have to worry about it. More fans? Asked the caretaker to give up their fan, but she found it too small to be of any help (fans have since been added, to heed her suggestion). She thought the bathroom wasn't clean enough? Profuse apology and on the phone with the caretaker for appropriate reprimand. I have extensively exchanged messages with her trying to sort out her demands with as much understanding and sensitivity as I can so I don't know where this entire "deal with it" comment is coming from. There's just no pleasing some people despite all your efforts to sort out a situation. Heck, I even refunded HALF of her payment to make up for any trouble without being asked to. Word of advice: do not check into a farmhouse expecting a 5-star hotel. You do not go into a farmhouse then complain there are "gamu gamo around" and that you "had to buy katol". Just check-in next time at the Shangri-la, not in our home. How insulting.
