The Barn is a luxury 5* self-catering barn conversion, an interesting contemporary holiday home with a mixture of textures, colour and light. It really is a ‘Grand Design’, with a contemporary but cosy style sitting comfortably within rustic architecture. It sleeps 5 within its three separate sleeping areas. The Barn is nestled within two splendid, professionally designed gardens. One is an Italian pebble courtyard full of structural plants and shapes with a large wooden seated area for family meals, and the other is a hidden gem for a romantic evening with champagne catching the evening sun. This unique holiday home offers an amazing space for those seeking a holiday in the North York Moors with a contemporary style, giving plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The Barn is located within the grounds of Middleton Hall, which is in the village of Middleton just on the outskirts of the popular market town of Pickering. One can walk to Pickering in 20 minutes or drive there in just a few minutes. Middleton Village itself has a wonderful pub serving food and drink, a petrol station, a convenience store, a post office and a tea room.
The Barn boasts a professionally designed contemporary interior, whilst retaining the character of the original farm barn, with revealed stone walls and original barn roof trusses. The huge patio doors and roof-lights let plenty of natural light into the large main space within which you'll find the fully equipped kitchen, large dining table for entertaining and comfortable sofa area, with flat screen TV. There are remotely controlled blinds to reduce heat gain in summer and to exclude the early morning sunshine for those in the twin bedroom.
Off the Northern side of the kitchen and main living area, there is a second cosy sitting room, with a second flat screen TV, DVD player, and a wood burning stove, which makes for a relaxed atmosphere in which to unwind on a winters evening. A splendid sleeping area, with separate dressing area on a mezzanine floor, is accessed up the elegant glass and walnut stairs. The blue wet-room with central power shower and the utility room complete this part of The Barn’s accommodation.
At the south end of The Barn, accessed by a separate walnut staircase, is the sumptuous twin mezzanine bedroom looking out across the original barn beams. The twin beds will convert easily into a huge double bed upon request. Below is a magnificent bathroom with a deep bath and separate power shower, toilet and basin. Next to it is a single bedroom which is ideal for less able guests as there are no stairs to access it. This room also doubles as a study. Underfloor heating throughout makes for a warm and comfortable space. We would like to keep The Barn and its furnishings to a high standard for the enjoyment of all our guests; unfortunately, this means that we cannot allow pets or smoking.
