Our homey cabin is on a premier trout fishing creek nestled in the woods but only a short drive to McCaysville or 20 min. to Blue Ridge. Sit on the decks, sun yourself on the rock in the creek, float the creek, enjoy darts and billiard without leaving the cabin. At night enjoy the fire pit or the gas powered fireplace. There is a tv and VCR but sorry no cable or wifi.
Nearby to mountain biking, hiking, white water rafting, tubing, horse back riding, quaint towns, apple orchards, and much more.

Le logement
This is a 3 story simple cabin located on a dead end road with a loft, main floor, basement/game room. There is a dining room with large homemade kitchen table, living room, multiple sleeping options, one bedroom, large loft, basement with washer/dryer and one full bathroom. It is right on Fighting town creek which is well know for trout fishing. (Recommended catch and release.)
There are three porches with chairs and a rocker. The plastic adirondack chairs around the fire pit can easily be moved around. We enjoy hanging outside or sunning on the large rock in the creek.
Kitchen has oven, cook top, sink, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig machine, toaster, refrigerator and basic cooking supplies.
Gas grill on the lower back porch. Please place on the lower deck by the creek while using if possible.
There is no internet or cable. There is a dvd and tv with some movies. Games/cards are located under the kitchen table benches.

Autres points à prendre en note
!!!!!There is a short section of narrow dirt roads to get to the cabin. Some experience driving on these types of roads would be beneficial. We have never had trouble getting in with a. Minivan and have never used 4 wheel drive but some guests have found the drive to be intimidating!!!!! Please keep this in mind when booking:)
There is a fire pit for your enjoyment however you will need to supply your own firewood. You can purchase this at Home Depot in blue ridge. The indoor fire place is propane and the directions will be in the cabin for operating. The remote to control the fire is grey and should be on the mantle.
Directions open the propane with the lever to the left then twist the knob to ignite. Press the ignite button several times and hold it for a few seconds after it ignites then place the knob to on.
The house will heat up very quickly especially the upstairs with us of the fireplace. You may want to limit use of fireplace or at least monitor it as some find it too hot to sleep after the fireplace has been on for an extended period of time.

If you desire alcohol, you should purchase it ahead of time. Fanin county is a dry county. There are no liquor stores. You can buy beer and wine at the Walmart in Blue Ridge. They do not sell alcohol till 12:30 afternoon on Sunday's. There are bars and a drive through beer store in Mccaysville. Blue Ridge also has several restaurants/bars. Hours vary.

Here are some of the things we enjoy doing when we are there. There are some flyers at the house too.
-Horseshoe bend park for relaxing/picnic/volleyball
-Toccoa river tubing company for tubing
-Rolling Thunder River Company for WW rafting
-Mercier orchards for shopping and great apple fritters
-Blanche manor for horseback riding
-Blue ridge railway for scenic trip
-Blue ridge downtown for shopping/ice cream/lunch
-Fanin county chamber of commerce website keeps a great update on local festivals and happenings
-Mccaysville also has some little shops and hidden gems
-Ocoee white water center held some of 1996 water Olympic events. Fun swimming, walking, hiking, informative center
-Lots of mountain biking in the area
-Appalachian trail starts nearby
-****We love to do a small water fall hike (falls branch falls) and then have lunch at Toccoa river restaurant.
-Toccoa river swinging bridge is a little drive but it’s awesome. Road is an old logging road and not maintained well then you have to hike a short distance to get to bridge.
-blue ridge adventure park
-We have tubes at the house and often float our creek. That takes a bit of work b/c you have to meet at end of creek which takes about 2 hours to float but requires preparing the tubes and having someone pick you up. Probably easier to just go with company mentioned above that rents tubes and picks you up. Our creek is a bit shallow but totally fun.
-Campfires at the house. May want to bring own firewood as we might be getting low.
-Rent a boat for the day at lake blue ridge or one of the nearby lakes
-There is no WiFi or cable at the house. We do have a tv with DVD player.
-Our kids enjoy hanging in the creek and sunning on the rocks.
-There are approximately 4 plastic Adirondack chairs around the fire pit but those can easily be moved around to the porches. Our kids bring hammocks and read on the downstairs porch.
-There is a pool table and dart board in the basement.

We allow pets but we ask that you keep your pets off the furniture and keep the pets in our yard. Some of the neighbors have dogs also. Also please pick up any pet waste. We are asking for a $100 pet deposit with $50 being returned at the end of your stay if there are no damages. The extra $50 goes towards paying the cleaning lady extra for hair removal, etc.

Any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
