Welcome to our Urban Garden Abode!
Our home is a classic 1908 Craftsman in the much sought after Division-Clinton area of inner southeast Portland. Walk to many of the city's best restaurants or open the French doors and dine on the garden patio.
We are on a rare double lot with ample outdoor space for you to relax amongst the flower beds with a book, or dine with friends on the patio amongst our organic gardens.
Our home has all the vintage charm of an older house intact, but has been updated for modern comforts. You will have a private two-room suite to yourselves with a separate garden entrance. There is a lovely bedroom with a queen bed and a closet for your belongings. Your living room has French doors leading out to the garden space. There is also a comfortable queen size sofa bed in the living area. Relax in the authentic antique claw foot bathtub or use the stand up shower in your private bath. There is wifi throughout the house.
You'll have a well-equipped "kitchenette" including a refrigerator, microwave, French press, and electric teakettle. This perfect for snacks and breakfast. There are no cooking facilities and the only sink is in the bathroom. We supply you with local coffee, teas and all of their accoutrements. We also supply an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner and a luggage rack. If there are any additional supplies you need to make your stay more comfortable just let us know!
The suite is most comfortable for 2 adults, but if you don't mind close quarters we do welcome up to 4 people and it works very well for families with young children. There is a queen size sofa bed in the living area. We also have a Pack in Play for little ones. We have many additional amenities to make a visit with children comfortable and easy. Tell us the ages of your kids and we will stock your apartment with age-appropriate toys and books. Need a babysitter while you are in town? We will do our best to help set that up for you as well. We do not charge extra for the first child under 10 years old.

We enjoy hosting and are either on hand or a phone call away to give you assistance with anything you need. We are happy to provide you with suggestions for exploring all that our city has to offer. We can tell you where to find the best Portland cuisine on any budget, from food carts to fine dining. We are also experts at making suggestions for anyone with restricted diets. Need to know where to go for a gluten free or vegetarian meal? We have you covered. We are also very LGBTQ friendly!
You may hear us. While you have an independent unit with a separate entrance, we do share some walls. Your bedroom does not share any walls with the rest of our house though. However, your bathroom and living room do. We make every effort to keep noise to a minimum (100 plus guest visits now and we have not ever had a complaint about this!). Our noise is the bustle of a busy family, no loud music or late nights. Evenings are generally quiet by 10pm. During the week there are four of us starting to get ready for our days around 7am, so there can be an increase activity then. This is not a good location for late night partying.

We are both originally from the northeast (Vermont and NYC), but have lived in Portland over a decade now and love our city! Portland has the feel of a small town, but with all the perks of a big city. We adore the quirkiness of this city and its locavore culture. It is also a great place to raise kids.
Professionally, we are a doctor and a lawyer who work in public health and social justice fields. In our spare time we love to explore all that Portland and the Pacific Northwest have to offer. You might find us biking to local food carts, stand up paddle boarding on the Willamette, or hiking in the Columbia Gorge. We also love to travel and take opportunities to do so whenever we can.
We are serious foodies and enjoy most everything food related. From exploring farmer’s markets, to doing our own gardening; from berry picking to visiting orchards on Mt. Hood; from canning to pickling; from preparing elaborate meals to dining at the city’s best restaurants—Portland is known for its fabulous food and we can point you in the right direction.
