Paraszt Palota means 'Farmers Palace’ in Hungarian. In this cottage you stay in the atmosphere and style of 1928 with 21st century comfort. The original 90 year old beamed ceiling has been restored.

The covered veranda invites you for a cozy coffee in the morning sun. From the veranda you look out over a wide lawn and the giant, cooling walnut tree.

Le logement
A holiday in our rustic farmhouse will bring you the luxury of modern life, combined with a pre-war atmosphere. In this holiday home in a quiet village you can completely relax. Finally time for that book that you always wanted to read. Enjoy the large garden, fruit trees and space. And yet there is plenty to do in the area: walking, cycling, fishing, wine tasting and cultural trips.

From the veranda, you enter the spacious kitchen. At the front of the house is the living room with fireplace and library. At the back of the house are the bedrooms and the bathroom. The veranda runs the length of the house and is approximately 6 meters long and 1.5 meters wide.

The living room is on the street side. There are 2 comfortable chairs and a sofa. Free WiFi is available. There is also a coffee table and a stereo system with CD player. A reading corner has been set up in a separate corner of the living room so that you can retreat with a book. The floor is tiled and in front of for the stove there is an antique Persian carpet. Heating goes through a wood stove.

The kitchen is placed against the back wall. You have access to a wide countertop, a 4-burner gas hob, a fridge, freezer and plenty of pans, plates and crockery. Coffee maker and kettle are provided, as well as sufficient kitchen towels and tea towels. The kitchen has a dining area for 4 people so you can enjoy a delicious meal in this cosy room.

Our holiday home has a large and cosy bedroom with a double bed at the back. From the bedroom you can have breakfast under the walnut tree in the morning. In the other bedroom there are two 2 single beds. Duvets, pillows and linen are provided for all beds.

The bathroom in your cottage is tiled in fresh yellow and blue. You have access to a neat shower and a sink with mirror. Hot water goes through a 100 liter boiler. There is a washing machine.

You have 1000 m² of garden at our holiday home. Near the house is a giant walnut tree. Below you are cool in the summer. In the garden there are fruit trees and there is a mini vineyard so you can enjoy the grapes. Behind the house is a wooden terrace where you easily set down in the shade in the afternoon. On the veranda you are always in the lee.

The surroundings of the Bükk mountains are a great cycling area. At Eger, for example, there is a special cycle route along the vineyards. In Sály you can rent mountain bikes (€ 7 p / d and € 35 p / w per bicycle) from a Dutch village companion.

The children can fully enjoy themselves on the large lawn. If they prefer to play games, that's possible too. There are many games and there is a stock of children's books. Your pet is very welcome in our holiday home. Just like our dog Jip, your pet will enjoy the freedom that the garden offers. The garden is completely fenced.

Accès des voyageurs
Guests will have access to the complete house, including 1000 sq.m garden.

Autres points à prendre en note
In the summer it is often hot in Hungary. Our advice is to keep windows and doors closed during the day. Then the house stays nice and cool. Airing is the most convenient in the morning or in the evening.

About the environment

Our holiday home is in the village of Sály. In Sály there are a few shops, village bars, a doctor, pharmacy and post office. A village supermarket for sandwiches, fillings, coffee, soft drinks and other basic necessities is a 10 min walk away.

Charming Sály is a quiet village and ideal for bird watchers and butterfly lovers. Hikers can make long walks in the area with magnificent views over rapeseed fields and beautiful views of the beech trees of Bükk.

There are plenty of swimming pools and aqua palaces in the area, as well as cultural trips and sporting pleasures, for example on Lake Tisza.
