Tiny Village on the Fish Farm

Feel yourself unwind in the peaceful environment of our farm! Tiny Village on the Fish Farm is a unique opportunity to experience tiny house living.

We are close to three national parks. Sequoia/ Kings Canyon is 54 miles away, & Yosemite is a nice day trip.

As is typical of many small, rural communities, our internet speed may be slow & intermittent.

Le logement
Tiny living does not mean a tiny experience!

This listing is for The Redwood room and Cedar room, two of three guests rooms at Tiny Village on the Fish Farm. The Redwood and Cedar rooms are a cozy 8' x 13'. Each room has has a locked entrance, mini-split cooler, flip-up desk and private bathroom (8' x 3').

The two rooms share a screened porch. This is a great place to relax and play games. Be aware the screened porch does not have a cooling system and can get hot in the summer.

SHARED SPACES - Other amenities include an outdoor coffee bar with microwave and mini-fridge, a covered eating area, and BBQ grill with a side burner.

THE OUTSIDE SPACE

Tiny Village on the Fish Farm is located in the Sanger river bottom, known for its peacefulness and beautiful scenery. Our ponds play host to a variety of wildlife including fish, insects, frogs, beavers, waterfowl, hawks and eagles. In the late spring, splashes of vibrant color dot our ponds as water lilies begin to bloom.

A stone’s throw from the tiny houses, sheep, goats, and cows graze in the pasture. The “floating” goat house greets you as you drive down the dirt road.

Though it seems you are far from civilization, Starbucks, restaurants, and groceries are only a few miles away.

Your unplugged retreat is long overdue....

Accès des voyageurs
• Guests have access to the deck and surrounding area. Guests do not have access to the rest of the property without permission.

• There is another tiny house in the Village and a house 150 feet away. Please do not disturb occupants.

Autres points à prendre en note
PLEASE READ

 •   We're the first to admit that tiny living, especially on a farm, is not for everyone. Our guests tend to be easy-going, adventurous & have a genuine interest in small family farms. It is the guest's responsibility to read the description & ask questions.

• Tiny Village is on a working farm so there will be animals sounds and smells during your stay. Even though we clean thoroughly, some surfaces may appear dusty (that's just the way it is on a farm).  There may be bugs. Keeping doors closed will minimize bugs inside. Take off shoes if you've been exploring the farm.

 • As is typical of many small, rural communities, our internet speed may be  slow and intermittent. It is usually adequate for checking email, but we can’t guarantee that the connection is working at any specific time. For guests who do need access to consistent wifi, there is a Starbucks 3 1/2 miles away in town.

 • The tiny house has a mini-split cooler. Mini-splits are very quiet & may take longer to cool than traditional a/c.  Please be patient. If you are heat sensitive, you probably will be more comfortable in a tiny house with the bed on the lower level.

• June, July and August, we do not provide extra blankets. If you are cold, adjust the temperature setting on the cooler.

 • The coffee bar has a microwave, mini-fridge, drip coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, bottle opener, corkscrew, coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, coffee filters and disposable coffee cups. Due to new California guidelines, we no longer provide plates, utensils, pots/pans. BRING YOUR OWN PLATES, UTENSILS AND COOKWARE IF YOU PLAN TO BBQ!

 • Be aware the screened porch does not have a cooling system and can get hot in the summer.

•  There is a one mile drive down a dirt/gravel road to get to the property. Speed limit is 10 mph. Drive carefully, especially at night.

• Ask about fishing!

• We encourage visitors to bring comfortable flat shoes to explore the farm. Please do not wear stiletto heels on the deck as there are small gaps between the boards (to allow proper drainage).

• .  Cancellation and Changes -  Please choose your dates carefully. We are unable to make changes once the reservation is booked. We follow AirBnB's strict cancellation policy.

SANGER, CALIFORNIA

We live on the outskirts of Sanger, a small, farming town. You can find modern stores next to family restaurants and shops that have been in business for the greater part of the past century. Sanger is a close-knit, multi-cultural community, but like many rural areas, it can be a little scruffy around the edges.

SEQUOIA, KINGS CANYON AND YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARKS

Just a 54 mile drive away up Highway 180, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks affords guests convenient access to hiking, fishing, birding, and backpacking opportunities within the parks.

Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, is up Highway 41. Hike up to Bridalveil Falls, climb El Capitan, or backpack out of Tuolumne Meadows.

An avid fisherman in his youth, John studied fisheries biology at the University of California, Davis. Upon graduation John served in the Peace Corps in Papua New Guinea. A farmer’s daughter, Janet grew up eating local, sustainable and free-range long before it was fashionable. Her father raised fruit, vegetables and cows in California’s fertile Central Valley. Initially, John and Janet settled in the San Francisco bay area, but they longed for a more simple, self-sufficient lifestyle. In 1985, they moved to Sanger, California and broke ground on their first fish pond.
