Our guest cabin is set on 20 wooded acres in the Osage Hills at the end of a private gravel road. It feels completely isolated, but it's only 10 minutes to downtown Bartlesville, 20 minutes to Pioneer Woman's Merc, and an hour to Tulsa. There is a full kitchen (mini-frig only), living area, and full bath on the ground floor, with a queen and twin bed on the 2nd floor. There is no TV or Wifi to interfere with the quiet. We live in the main house and are always available if needed.

Le logement
It feels like you are a million miles away from civilization. The chirping birds will greet you in the morning, and at night you can hear the hoot owl and nightingales. You'll marvel at the inky black skies dotted with stars, without any city lights to dim the beauty. As you relax on the second floor deck outside the bedroom, you'll see deer grazing on the front lawn and perhaps a turkey or two. But it's only a quick 10-minute drive to get to Bartlesville, with its array of dining options and attractions, and only 20 minutes in the opposite direction to get to the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile as well as other Osage highlights. Or head south to Tulsa with its city attractions. Our Cabin in the Woods is truly the best of both worlds!

Accès des voyageurs
You can access any part of the 20 acres, including the pond and deck. Do check with us before going out for a hike, so we can describe the limits of the property - there is no fence between us and one of our neighbors.
The mile-long gravel road leading into the property is good for short strolls or runs.

Autres points à prendre en note
Steep stairs to the bedroom loft may be difficult for some people.
Sleeping arrangements include 1 queen and 1 twin bed upstairs. The couch in the living room folds down into a double size and can be used as an additional sleeping space.
There is no TV and no Wifi. Cell phone reception is very good for most service providers, though, so you can create your own hotspot and access the internet.
If you plan to hike the woods, we recommend bringing along long pants, closed shoes, and bug spray.

The cabin is adjacent to the main house but seems very secluded. The front porch and 2nd-floor deck look out on the woods, and the back side is separated from the main house by trees. While walking in the woods, you may scare up a deer or two, or perhaps a few turkeys with their young following behind. The area is known for its bird-watching, so grab the binoculars and bird book (provided in the cabin) on your walk and see what you can find.

I've lived and traveled all over the world, seeking adventure in both my personal life and at work. Now I've settled down in a small town, but life still seems like an adventure. I love my home in the woods, surrounded by my animals and the seemingly endless woods and hills. Yet I'm still close enough to civilization to satisfy my "city girl" needs, with downtown Bartlesville only 10 minutes away and Tulsa just an hour. During my travels I met so many wonderful people who showed me around and shared their ways of life. So now I want to share my small piece of heaven with others and hope they leave with some fond memories. Since moving to the country, I discovered a passion for horses - training them, caring for them, and riding them. I now own four, along with my 4 dogs and 4 cats. I'm also passionate about Bartlesville's downtown, which is registered on the National Trust for Historic Places. So much so, in fact, that I worked with a group to create the Downtown Walking Trail guide and website so others could learn about our history.
