Austin House is located in a small coastal village in Maine. The home was once an inn during the late 1800's - and has been completely renovated in 2010 and so is now like a new home but still retains the feel of past times.

Le logement

Austin House is a cozy place to return to after a day of sightseeing or hiking. You may enjoy a sit on the porch in a rocking chair watching the tide rise and fall in the Pleasant River, relax in lawn chairs in the seclusion of the back lawn, or just have a relaxing soak in the clawfoot tub.
The house is only 2 miles from Hwy 1 providing quick access to sites east and west.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We will be at the house when you arrive to answer any questions and give you the keys. We will be staying in the area, so if there is any way we can help make your stay more enjoyable, you may contact us at anytime. We also try to be present at check out time as well.

Autres remarques

Acadia National Park is about an hour drive from our house. We are just 5 minutes from Hwy 1, so just a short drive to get to the highway whether going east or west.
Blueberries: This area is known as the Blueberry capital of the world! The blueberry barrens are beautiful year round, turning blue in July when the berries are ready to harvest, and red in the fall. You will find blueberries everywhere for sale at this time and they are yummy! The Machias Wild Blueberry Festival takes place in August. And if you are here then, don't miss the Black Fly Ball - a dress-up dance party for all!

Lynne’s place is amazing for a quiet getaway. This is definitely not a tourist town, which was great for us. I have no complaints about the house at all. You will definitely need access to a vehicle. Almost anything you could want to do in Maine is within an hour or two from the house. Would definitely stay here again!

My friends and I loved our stay here! The house was exactly what we expected and we loved it's charm. It was about 1 and half hrs away from Acadia which wasn't too bad! Lynne was an awesome host and made us feel safe and welcome! She even gave us tips and advice on things to do and places to eat in the area! Definitely loved our stay and would love to come back if we ever get the chance!

Lynne's place is so tastefully restored and we enjoyed and admired the place and her garden. Lynn and her husband treated us like family. I would add that if you get a chance, go the the marine institute and do the tour. It was really worth it and we learned a lot. Get a piece of famous pie at Helen's. Finally, everyone we ran into around the area was so, so nice to us. We made some real friends!!
