Come to Woodhaven! My fully-furnished 2-BR Catskills cabin is situated only 90 miles from Manhattan in Sullivan County. It's close to Bethel Woods, Monticello Casino, lakes, a ski park, hiking, water rafting, antique stores, and farmers' markets.
My fully-furnished cabin, Woodhaven, rests on a half-acre lot in the artsy lake community of Smallwood (so there are other cottages within view of mine). It is adorned by mature maples and hemlocks--and also by cardinals, squirrels and deer. A hammock, front porch, outdoor patio and firepit, complete the outdoor experience.
Inside, restored pinewood throughout suffuses the cabin with coziness and warmth. Features and amenities include recessed lighting, ceiling fans, microwave, dishwasher, DVD player, VCR, movie and music collection, Internet/Wi-Fi, Apple TV, and cable TV channels. Built-in beds and dressers accentuate the cabin's practical design, and Roche-Bobois living room furniture makes it comfortable.
The space is best for a couple, a small family, or a few friends. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, the 2nd bedroom has a twin built-in bed, and the foyer/living room has a twin built-in bed.

Having a Catskills getaway is a great luxury for a Manhattanite. I love to come here and read, write, barbecue, lie in the hammock, and work in the yard and garden. But it's great to open the cabin up to others when I'm not using it. I have a sketch book full of the art and notes of grateful guests who've enjoyed it as much as I have.
Born and raised in Tennessee, I have lived in Chicago, Los Angeles, and now for the last 16 years, New York City. I write, act, and shoot film.
Recent favorites (not necessarily in this order): tubing down the Delaware River, Earth, Wind and Fire, coffee shops with great lounges and views (like Fika and Java Love and Maison du Macaron and Laughing Man Coffee and Tea), H.L. Mencken, "The Education of Henry James," "The Swerve," James Agee, Cassavetes' "A Woman Under the Influence," Maysles brothers' "Salesman."
