Thanks for stopping by! We lovingly call our place 'The Villa because life here is really special - always happy, peaceful and easy. Everyone loves being here!
'The Villa' is a restored 1920's duplex, near the lake (temporarily out of water - currently be refilled). Two bed rooms; large with queen size bed, other room with full size bed. one bath with separate tub and shower; large sunken living room with high-beamed ceiling and working fireplace; large dinning room; galley kitchen; office; utility room with indoor washer and dryer; hardwood floors; wifi; air conditioning and heat; large screen TV; courtyard, lovely English garden, outdoor sitting areas and a small pond with fountain. There are two bedrooms: the larger room is located in the front of the house with large french windows that open out to a beautiful private courtyard. It has a queen bed, easy chair, dresser, and large walk-in closet. The second room is located in the back of the house and has a full-sized bed, walk-in closet and views of our backyard garden. The house is peaceful and quiet and you'll wake up to the sound of birds gently chirping. There is plenty of street parking, and we feel safe walking in the neighborhood.
Silver Lake is rated by Forbes Mag. as one of 10 best neighborhoods in large cities. It is also one of LA's most popular neighborhoods, and it's central location makes it the perfect spot to enjoy the best of LA: minutes to downtown; Hollywood; Griffith Park; Old Town Pasadena; Los Feliz,; Sunset Blvd., Echo Park, Burbank and Atwater. Great venues are close by too: Dodger Stadium, Hollywood Bowl, The Greek Theater, LA Zoo, Universal Studios, LA Observatory, and so much more. What makes Silver Lake so unique is it is a very peaceful town in the middle of a bustling city. Go out and play, and come home to a sanctuary. Rest and repeat.
If you decide to hang out at home, everything is within walking distance - Trader Joes, Gelsons Market, Pinkberry, the library, postal annex, two nice parks, banks, Starbucks - along with many great restaurants and bars and our amazing LA food trucks. The lake is a short block from our door. Take a stroll around it, soak in it's unique beauty and visit our local artisan shops in our little 'down town Silver Lake'. You can even catch some up-and-coming bands at the clubs along Sunset and in Echo Park. When you are relaxing at home, you'll most likely see (and hear) our Canadian Geese flying to and from the lake to the LA River.
We love our home and think you will too. It's clean and welcoming and comfortable - and Silver Lake is absolutely one of the best locations for visiting LA. Everyone who stays here loves it. We'd love to share our home with you too!
As lovely as The Villa is, it is not a safe place for young children. Thank you for understanding.
If you are flying to LA, our closest & easiest airport is Bob Hope (BUR; Burbank, CA). It's about 15 minutes from the house. Los Angeles International (LAX) is about 45 minutes from the house.
Please contact us if you are interested in staying longer than two weeks. (email hidden) Thanks! Trish & John
