The apartment mostly lived up to it description with a few problems: 1. The host did not supply enough toilet paper, garbage bags or paper towels even for the first day. When we asked about the toilet paper, Sarah said her husband would bring some. When her husband came a few days later, he said that we had to provide all of these items. 2. Even though the listing indicated there was a dryer, Sarah told us we couldn't use it during our 2-week stay. Without a dryer, the towels we were given were hard and awful to use. We pressed her about the dryer and it was finally fixed on the 5th day of our visit. 3. Kitchen: The cabinet door housing the microwave would not stay open unless someone held it; made the microwave difficult to use. Other cabinets had the same issue. There were no dairy pots or pans; Sarah's husband finally brought a small dairy pan after a few days. 4. It rained heavily in Jerusalem for nearly three days while we were there. Significant water came in through the windows in the dining room, living room and master bedroom, especially in the dining room. We had to put towels down, change them often and mop up repeatedly. We moved the dining room table into the living room so we didn't get wet when we were eating. Sarah and her husband were responsive, but the problem didn't go away until the rain slowed down. It was a pain to deal with this. 5. A downstairs neighbor complained that he could hear us move chairs in the dining room because it was over his bedroom. The two times he complained were before 10 pm and guests were moving their chairs in the course of eating dinner. 6. Location was great with two issues: the two bedrooms on the street side/over the bar were noisy and it was difficult to find either free or pay parking nearby. The positives: Despite the above, we thought the apartment was terrific. It was large and accommodated our family and our guests well. There was enough seating and meat utensils for our guests. The apartment was clean and nicely furnished. We were able to cook what we needed and had fun doing it. Sarah was very responsive and tried to help quickly. It is helpful if you speak French or Hebrew. We appreciated the cake and juice they left for us. One thing that would be helpful is an instruction sheet with information about hot water/showers, internet, etc.

The apartment was incredibly spacious and well-furnished. Three full bedrooms - a master suite with its own bath and two twin beds pushed together to make a double bed, a second bedroom with two twins and a third bedroom with a bunk bed and trundle that can sleep 3. The heating worked well - the stone buildings of Jerusalem can get cold so good heating is very appreciated! The living area and kitchen were very spacious, light and airy - we were able to comfortably host a meal with some friends for 11 people. Sarah made us feel very welcome - we never met her but she communicated with us quickly and efficiently. The place was clean and made Kosher for Passover and she even left us some chocolates and Passover cookies to make us feel at home. The kitchen was fully equipped. The location is outstanding - very central to the center of town with loads of cafes and restaurants within an easy walk. About a 20 minute walk to the Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall, a 15-minute walk to the Mamilla shopping arcade and about a 25-minute walk to the Kotel. There is no parking and the side streets by the apartment have paid parking with a three-hour limit. We were always to able to find a space close to the apartment and just had to remember to feed the meter to avoid a ticket. There is free parking about a 7-8 minute walk away on Chopin Street. Like many Israeli apartments, this one has a "dood" or hot water heater that needs to be switched on and put on a timer. It took us a couple days to figure this out but once we did there was plentiful hot water when we wanted it. It rained heavily during our stay and there was a pretty significant leak that developed in the master bedroom. It looks like this leak is a persistent problem as we noticed damage to the drywall when we got there. However, when we told this to Sarah she quickly apologized and said that they will be repairing this issue. Given how well maintained the apartment is, I suspect this will be corrected by the next time we visit. In summary, this apartment was an absolute delight - I almost didn't want to write a review so we can keep this treasure to ourselves for the next time we visit!

Sarah was helpful, patient, and easy to work with. Apartment was spacious and well stocked with household and kitchen items. Apartment was centrally located, but on a busy street. Overall location was good and we had a great experience.
