We are near Woodstock/Quechee and you’ll love us if you enjoy natural setting, rustic woods surrounded by old stone walls and a sweet pond. Get out and explore the Upper Valley, returning to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. We are experienced innkeepers from So Pasadena CA, Bissell House Bed & Breakfast for the last 15 years. Glamping with us is a great way to enjoy your social distancing. You can also rent both trailers and have the entire place to yourself!

Le logement
Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our vintage trailers are just the spot! Our 12 acre property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors.

Fall is here! Crisp nights, hiking local mountains, camp fires and cookouts make for a great end to the summer season.

Camping with a trailer is a fun experience for the adventurous. While we do not have an enclosed kitchen, our outdoor “summer kitchen” cook station has some good basics. These include a 3 burner stove, BBQ grill and smoker, pans, utensils, olive oil, and dishwashing area, table and chairs.
We do want to emphasize that you are camping...this outdoor structure is not pristine. We have a roof over the side of a container with electric, refrigerators and a gas stove. It is NOT an enclosed kitchen, there are dirt and plywood floors and the occasional chipmunks and skunk visiting at night. The trailers are not “perfect” but none of us will be at 73 and 64 years old!! :)

NOTE-the communal camp pans have been well used on top of hot gas flames so if Uber cleanliness is your thing, feel free to bring your own... Bring anything else that you want to add for your own comfort, such as a cooler and ice. You may want to bring flashlights and rain gear. There are many choices for dining in our area if you prefer to eat out.

We are adding some upgrades to the cooking area and composting bathroom. We currently have a ditch where we are installing water lines, internet cat 6 cable and more electric. Please be aware that this is here in the yard however it is NOT near your trailer. You will need to cross it after parking. The benefit next year will be a sink with running water and at some point a shower.

Our Curtis Wright is 73 years old and the El Rey is 64. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, awnings etc. that function according to their age and we will be upgrading them periodically. These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy!

Your trailer is down by the pond, nearby is the large fire pit, composting outhouse, stove and BBQ grill. Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the barred owls hunting for frogs at night. Both trailers are pondside, the El Rey is across from the Curtis Wright.
Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. This listing is for the 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. Our other trailer is the El Rey, please see the second listing for it.

Nights can be chilly so be prepared with warm clothes. Please be aware of weather conditions as rain can impact your camping! That’s part of what makes it so fun to be inside a trailer instead of in a tent on the ground! However mud can be part of your experience outside the trailer.

You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill.... Kindling is available as fallen branches however for larger wood, please purchase locally for whatever you intend to use, or order from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We usually have wood on site for sale, advance request is much appreciated and please pay upon arrival with cash, $10 per bundle. A bag of charcoal is $15.

Our wonderful resident bats do a great job at night clearing insects! Sit out by the pond and watch them arrive at dusk!
Our Phoebe Flycatchers build their mud nests all over the property and have 2 baby bird hatchings usually by mid-summer. They help keep insects down as well. If it’s a clear night, the stars are usually amazing in the sky over the pond.

We live up in the house and are available to you as much as you’d like! We prefer that you do contact us with your needs to ensure a great experience.
For showers, guests can make the 5.7 mile drive down to Quechee State Park and pay a $4 day fee to use the solar showers which take quarters. The park closes October 18th this year. If you reserve after that date there will not be showers available.

Accès des voyageurs
Our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream is our second trailer available on our property. It’s a cozy 20 feet in length with a queen size bed, closet and front table and seating area. The trailer kitchen area has a counter however we prefer that guests cook outside at our camp cook station due to propane concerns. We have outdoor seating around the fire pit. You may cook on a 3 burner propane stove or BBQ grill. Or start your fire in the pit and grill there.

We bring in State Park “daily tested for purity” Artesian well water. We rely on you to notify us if you use more than one container daily. Included in your stay is whole bean coffee and cream(cream is in the camp kitchen cooler), a coffee maker and grinder, and in the cook area organic tea bar, electric kettle. Also in cabinets in your trailer are basic dishes, silverware, mugs, sugar, salt and pepper. You are responsible for cleaning up after yourselves and returning your dishes to your trailer.

For chilly nights we have an electric heater in the camper and extra blankets. The Airstream has a small fan for when it’s warmer and AC. Quechee State Park about 5.7 miles away, has solar showers that take quarters and entry is $4 per day. The park closes on October 18 but we have well water for cooking and drinking.

The composting outhouse has towels, tp, bug spray, cleanser, and a mop and broom for the camp if you wish to clean your trailer mid-stay. Help yourselves but please return to the outhouse after use.

We do have Comcast WiFi and cell service here... The network and password are listed on our listing and also on a sign in the outhouse. Sometimes depending on your carrier and the weather, service can be impacted inside of our aluminum trailers. Just step outside and refresh to get your signal. You may or may not have service inside the trailer depending on the above mentioned aspects. Many of our guests say they are coming to “unplug” for their stay.

IMPORTANT-PLEASE PLAN TO CHECK IN BETWEEN 3 and 6:30 pm.
We understand that you may wish to arrive later at the end of your day, but this is not a location where we can accommodate arrivals after dark. We need to show you the nuances of the trailers, cook station, composting outhouse and property. After checking in, you can head back out for dinner, shopping etc. as we are a mere 5 miles from Quechee. We further request that you communicate your arrival time no later that the day of so that we can greet you. We plan our day around your arrival and ask that you respect our time as well.

All guests are asked to read our house manual on Airbnb so you are familiar with sensitive issues regarding safety requirements such as NO open flames in the trailer, no gas or diesel in our fire pit as it drains in rainy weather right into our wildlife pond, swimming rules , and electric use inside among other things. We also have specific clauses around professional photography use of our property that must be adhered to in advance.
“Any photography done with our property must be for personal use only and not professional use nor intended for publication.” You must have advance (prior to booking) permission for professional photography which will also require a contract for fees and terms. We also must restrict the use of our property to registered guests only, not your friends. All guests swim and hike our property at their own risk. We ask that you only swim during daylight hours. We are NOT a clothing optional space, please dress appropriately in swimwear. Thank you. We reserve the right to refuse service.

If your trip is planned for summertime, our neighbor on Ellison Road at Lone Pine Farm has fantastic “pick your own” blueberries in July/August. They are remarkable 25 year old producing bushes...treat yourself to some fun! The Annual Quechee Balloon Festival is mid-June. Saint-Gaudens National Historic Park in Cornish New Hampshire is a great way to spend the day. As you return from Plainfield NH, stop at Edgewater Farm stand for some beautiful produce and flowers. Fall is a perfect season to enjoy everything the area has to offer...Apple cider, shopping in quaint towns, foliage, and local art.

Autres points à prendre en note
We are off the main road a bit on dirt roads, approximately 5 miles to Quechee or 8 miles to Woodstock. During mud season or in heavy rain, 4 wheel drive is helpful. White River Junction is about 15 minutes away as are the larger towns of West Lebanon and Hanover New Hampshire. While it might feel wild and remote if you are a city person, it is very peaceful here. We are on site and available if you need us.

We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and the occasional neighbor going past. Wildlife abounds, we do have deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose. Our Phoebe Flycatchers nest and fledge in the summer kitchen annually and you might see the babies learning to fly. We hope our local Barred Owls will be regular visitors again this summer.

We live on site and can assist with anything that you may need. Feel free to call or text , we are up in the house we are building. If it’s 90 degrees or so we may want to take a dip in the pond ourselves!
If you find yourselves with questions, we prefer that you contact us for help. It’s much better to ask for assistance in advance than be disappointed afterwards when a simple call might be all it takes for a resolve. We want you to have a great time in at our place!
