The Palma estate is located on the edge of the quite village of « Salina Grande, » less than 10 kilometers from Trapani, on the far western tip of Sicily.
The heart of the estate is an old farm building whose origins date back to the 19th century. The estate and the farm building have been restored along the original specifications and now include a large apartment used by the owner.
Three fully independent lofts , each some 45sqm, complete the building and each includes an equipped open kitchen; a bathroom; a sitting area that can sleep 2/3 people; and a wooden mezzanine where the main sleeping area is located. At their highest point of the lofts, as well of the house in general, the ceilings reach 7.5 meters. Each of the 3 lofts has an independent entrance, and a terrace, overlooking an olive grove, palms, trees, the sea, and the mountain which hosts the middle age town of Erice.
The house is surrounded by an olive grove and a pond that is used for the wild fauna of the area, ducks and a varied types of birds stop by to drink and refresh. A complementary bottle of the high quality extra virgin olive oil, which is exported to places as far as Japan, is provided to all guests.
A quality sandy beach can be reached within a 5 minutes drive, where all expected services including restaurants and beach facilities are offered in season.
But undoubtedly one of the most memorable aspects of visiting Palma Estates will be the tranquility of the spectacular sunsets, as the sun retires right in front of you between the “Egadi” islands.
Despite the property is somehow secluded, it has all essential services close by. In 10 minutes walking you can reach a supermarket, a bakery, a fruit/vegetables-stand, etc.
The house is perfect for relaxation, or to just enjoy the nearby beach, but it is also perfect for an itinerant vacation. You can reach a number of interesting sightseeing driving , such as:
Trapani city center, 10 minutes;
Marsala city center 15 minutes;
Mothya archeological site, 10 minutes;
Erice, mediaeval town, 30 minutes;
The natural reserve of Paceco and the sea salt wails, 10 minutes;
The natural reserve of the Zingaro, 40 minutes;
San Vito's beach, 40 minutes;
Segesta Greek temple and amphitheater, 30 minute;
Palermo, 60 minutes;
The Egadi's islands (Favignana, Levanzo, and Marettimo) 20-40 minutes by boat, once you arrive to Trapani city center.
